Sorry, i had to put my pennies worth in... I think both are lovely men... and MEN MEN they are too... ;)

I have loved watching the series that was on earlier this year (or was it last year?). And this xmas edition was great to watch to. My OH was glued to the TV (even after he said he didn't want to was "this rubbish"). Oh how he changed his mind!!

My DH was the same with the first series "not reality rubbish" he said, then got hooked on it too! :rotfl:

Come on, doesn't anyone like 'young Mr Acton'?

When they were trying to get the very sweet Clumper to back into his shafts, I was reminded of 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell, where the farm animals rise up against the farmer (an analogy for communist revolution). Orwell said he was inspired to write the book by seeing a small boy goading a shire horse into pulling a cart, and wondered what would happen if the horse ever realised its own strength.

I'm sure he's very nice, but tbh he doesn't seem "man" enough for me :D

Raksha, perhaps we ought to prepare a petition to the BBC to have a wrestling programme featuring Alex and Peter... yummy, imagine the two of them wrestling in skimpy pants and no shirt, all covered in oil :T:T:T That would be a real Christmas treat!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Good call - perhaps we should ask for Alex and Peter action figures in our Christmas stockings too? :T:T:T

Very nice indeed, although the long underwear wasn't that sexy ;);)

I couldn't imagine sleeping under a paper blanket would be that great, it might be warm but the rustling would keep me awake and I toss and turn that much during the night, it would be all ripped up in the morning.

I think after last night, I might just have to say Peter won it for me with that wonderful smile when his face was so dirty, and he must have been so tired.

The great thing about this programme is that they are all obviously thoroughly enjoying it, even though it is such hard work. There's never any moaning at all.

Has anyone caught the Victorian Christmas 'shorts' on the the BBC digital Text service? A variety of little clips of how to have a Victorian Christmas of your own, from making your own 'Sugar Plums' to 'artificial Holly berries from peas and melted sealing wax' (Peter even gives Ruth a sneaky peck on the cheek under the misteltoe - lucky Ruth!)
