Heh, I was also confused by your title. Afraid I don't have chutney recipes, but I do love pears poached in red wine.
Peel as many pears as you want, and either leave them whole with the stem or halve and core. Put them in a pot with some sugar to taste and some red wine (about halfway up) and top up with water, plus a few spices if you fancy - cinnamon and star anise are the ones I like. Stew till soft (no lid so the alcohol can evaporate off) and serve with greek yoghurt, icecream or cream. They are also nice cold.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
The kids wont eat them as they have started to go bad (they have some patches that have gone mushy), but can i use them to make a pudding of some sort instead?0

You could use them instead of apples in a crumbleCC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

Give them a good telling off
:):)
No, seriously I would use them mixed with something else to maybe make a pie or pudding How about a sponge pud.line a buttered bowl with chopped pears and maybe a chopped apple and top with a sponge pud mix made from 2 ozs flour, sugar and butter and whipped up egg as though you were making a small vikki sponge and bung in the oven Bit like an Eves pudding only with pears as well as an apple or two0 -
I had this last week. I cut off the bad bits, peeled and cored them then make a syrup of water and suger, added some sultanas and poched them. Delicious!I Believe in saving money!!!:T
