Hi
I made pear and elderberry jam as there were loads of free elderberries too. It used up pounds of them. Then pear and blackberry jam as I was able to pick blackberries. Then pear and almond tarts, then pears cooked in red wine and sugar - they both freeze brilliantly.0 -

How about trying to dry them? and then you can take your time about working out what to do with them...
Assuming you dont have a dehydrator - then maybe you could google how to dry things on the lowest setting in the oven.0 -

Here is a link to a recipe for Pear & Lemon jam. I made some last year and have just made some more with this year's pears http://www.cottagesmallholder.com/pear-and-lemon-jam-recipe-93. It has a lovely delicate flavour and ends up a lovely pink colour when it gets to setting point."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Hi
I have a few pears in my fruit bowl which are close to needing throwing out but I wondered if there was something I could do with them - pear sponge etc? I only have a square tin, sandwich tin, loaf tin and pudding basin but no cake tin.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -
could you do pear upside down cake I used up some pear with this the other week and it was yum! Would you be able to do this in your square tin?0

Yes I don't see why not - I was just unsure of the quantities. My recipe book states using a deep cake tin which I don't have. I can always try!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0
