  • Well there was something hideous described on the extreme moneysaving thread about this I think....something to do with wasps.
I think you need to read these good books though, sounds more comfortable and informative.;)

Very busy yesterday afternoon. Love living by the sea and love the summer, but when it is heaving with visitors I long for the end of the season for them to all go home.
Saw bits of the air show, but didnt bother trying to get to close traffic was horrific.
Been at work this afternoon:eek: hope its nice tommorow my day off.

I LOVE Danny Wallace - think I'm actually a bit obsessed by him actually. Have any of you read the 'Yes Man'? Thought it was good (wanted to BE Lizzie) but not quite as good as 'Join Me'. I also tried to get into the whole making his own country thing - but was on too late for me (11.35pm in Scotland!)

I spent quite a lot of time with Dave Gorman - who co-wrote 'Are you Dave Gorman' with Danny Wallace when I was working at an Edinburgh Fringe venue a few years ago as 'artist liaison' - ooo-eerr!

Girls, i am going to make you v jealous. His highness (did you watch Danny Wallace's show on starting his own country?) lives in my OH's building. Sightings a plenty. OH has to stop me from playing knock down ginger when we get home after a night out....:rotfl:

    I am inspirational because:

    - I have turned down several offers already of expensive hols (£1k +) I can t afford at the moment.

    - I have remortgaged my house this month to get a better rate saving £45 per month. This included paying off a debt at £1120

    - I am on for the second month ever (well as long as I can remember) that I have underspent on salary for month by about £150.

    - I have been turning away masses of friends who want me to sponsor them at the moment, when in the past I would have just agreed.

    - I persuaded my mum to cut up and cancel her store cards and a few dormant accounts.

    - I sold a few of mine and parents old mobiles (£65 in total)

    - I sold a few more things on ebay recently instead of giving them away (£25)

So at the moment, I'm feeling pretty good DFW wise.
  • Well done everyone. This month I have managed to overpay on CC by £100 and for the first time in years have managed 2 months not spending on debt cards and it looks good for not going into the OD this month (only 11 days to pay day)

And well done for talking on the radio about your debts to help others, that must've taken real courage :A

Aw thanks Ozzyfan and batgirl. I've been away for a few days and not logged on since last posting, so lovely to come back to positive words of encouragement!

Batgirl - I've already done most of the things you did in your "Month of Pain" ;), the only thing left really is the money-back sites which i've registered with but as I haven't actually bought anything since then I haven't had chance to earn anything back! But I'll use one for my car insurance when that's due in august. Thanks guys :D

Ooh and I forgot to mention, I have the money saved up for my car tax due at the end of next month. As someone else said on here, that's the first time since passing my test ten years ago!

Keep up the good work guys
