Weekend release- I am inspirational because....

I am inspirational because :-
1) I have had the motivation to reclaim near 5 grand in charges from different organisations
2) Cut my debt to under 10k.
3) Realised that through this board, there is inspiration and a friendly ear whenever needed.
4) My proudest one-Had a motion passed through national conference persuading my union (PCS) to set up a credit union for all members. This was passed unanaimously, and should hopefully help other people with their monetary habits.
5) Represented 6 people in work this week, and won 5, with only 1 person getting a written warning, this was a victory of sorts as they expected dismissal.
Have a fab weekend.

I am inspirational because....
With very little income and two properties to run, I have put things in place so that one property pays for itself.
With very little income, we are debt-and mortgage-free.
2 euro saver jar (started 15/6/06) now contains 6 euros!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
I am inspirational because............... i've finally woken up to my self inflicted debt situation and have cut my home insurance (and got £50 in the process), scored £50 for doing nothing but finding some euros, have paid off whacking great gas bill (£1,200) and am now looking for new job with better money!
Plus I've learnt how to cope with my depression better over the past three months and I think it's getting better...........:SWealth is not measured by currency0 -
I am inspirational because....
I mowed the lawn this morning saving me from having to find the dog.
Plus have spent less this week than last..Thought I saw the light at the end of the tunnel....Then got hit by a train! :A

I am inspirational because I have taken control of my finances and consolidated into a personal loan (as I couldn't get an interest free balance transfer - I did lots of research!) Now I have cleared and cancelled 2 credit cards, my store card and overdraft and feel very proud that I am no longer in a mess with my finances which were REALLY getting me down. Have changed all direct debits to first of the month, cancelled a long un-used gym membership after doing the race for life and realising that running outside is free (DUH!) and plan to set up a standing order into my isa which will hopefully mean I can pay the loan back quicker!
I've also bagged some great freebies, am taking lunch to work everyday and depositing £4 inot my lunch pig daily for a rainy day! In actual fact, I took £50 of rainy day money to the bank in the week and paid into my ISA as well. Have alos sorted a great load of clothers, shoes, books and DVDs out for selling on ebay and hope to through that at high interest savings too! HURRAH! I feel very proud to have taken some positive steps which have made me feel so much better and vow to always think before buying in the future!Proud to be dealing with my debts!0 -
Brilliant!
I am inspirational because:
I have transferred all my debts to 0% credit instead of 16.9% APR,
I have paid off nearly £1,000 since the middle of last month,
I will still be in credit in my current account when I get paid again in 10 days time.
I am in control for the first time in my life.

I am inspirational because...
I'm slowly turning the corner from being a MFW (money-free wannabe) to a DFW. Every day I'm getting just that little bit tighter - and this is the first month this year where my income has exceeded my outgoings. The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -
well done jessicamb! xProud to be dealing with my debts!0

Thank you Lynz, lovely thread. I am feeling inspirational today as I am getting back in control of my finances. Have lapsed a bit lately, but feel ready to go again, but not going to push myself too hard. If it takes 2 years then so be it.
I also have a job interview on Friday which is great. I have only applied for 2 jobs and got an interview for one already. So things are looking up.
Only 8 weeks until I am made redundant and go on holiday, but I am looking forward to a change and a new direction.
