these guys may be worth a try - no where near you, but a specialist rottie rescue would be ideal - http://www.zepthedep.com/ - I am sure if you found somewhere good, but not local, that transporting him could be a possibility...

I just spoke to John, will be calling him later on this evening with some more datails about Bruza, he may be able to help in some way although he is full at the moment....

    Thanks a lot

Managed to secure free neutering and VERY reduced price vaccination/microchip for Bruza at one of charity vet clinics (there ARE good people around :)) - he is going to the vets on Monday morning......

Gosia's house walls are all "aromatic" now so hoping neutering will help.....
  • did Gosia have problems with him barking last nigt or not?

Great news on the neutering/vaccs... would they be able to microchip him too?

Gosia said he was ok last night, hopefully he stays this way. He was indoors but she left her garden door open for him.

The vet will neuter, vacinate and microchip him on Monday...

I know someone who would dearly love this Rottie!
She lost hers when she visited London earlier this year.... lives in Wales though. I hope you find a lovely home for him. :A

Novastar - thanks for that. Obviouskly the dog needs to be properly assesed first and checked by a vet but we hope he will find a good, suitable home soon.

Just a quick update - Bruza has met Laika (my friend's white GS) today as well as frytka (the other friend's spaniel). Both girls - he was a real gentleman with them I was told.... He let the girls boss him around bless him.

He is fast asleep (and snoring) in Gosia's house now - on the stairs as her own dog Laika does not let him come upstairs (yet) LOL

Monday he is going to the vets to be neutered/chipped/vaccinated and back to Gosia for a bit.

Of course we are looking for a lovely, rottie-experienced home for this lovely boy......

And Bruza in my flat getting a cuddle from Gosia :)

He is a gorgeous big dog - and he's even got his tail which just adds to his natural beauty - maybe his previous owner wasn't all bad but just fell on hard times and didn't know what to do.

He has had a lot of luck in finding people willing to look after him while his life settles down, and I really hope that his luck extends to a permanent loving home being found for him very soon.

I believe his owner did not mean any harm, not on purpose anyway.

It is just general ignorance about dogs rater then anything else - he wanted a "macho" image with a rottie in East London, family would not have a dog indoors for "cultural and religious reasons"...

Bruza is still a young dog, only 2 years old - Gosia is doing a great job looking after him at the moment and we are all hopeful that we will manage to find him a good home.

Any prospective owner has to be prepared to be grilled by 4 of us though.. maybe 6 of us.... This dog is not going to just be handed in to anyone, he needs a good, forever home. He already had 2 owners and now with Gosia (number 3 in his short life) - he needs his own corner of the house and his own door to guard ;)
