 £75 for the material for the teddy ....I think not with my lot!
Some of the bits were good but could google anything like this on the web
Just think.... how do you clean mohair that has been puked on
I enjoyed tonight's programme more than last night's.
I don't understand why people like soap. I much prefer a squirt of handwash or some nice shower gel. These don't make scum and a nasty mess of the shower either. If someone buys me soap for Christmas it's a worse crime than buying candles ie. shows no imagination and tells me they don't know what I would like.[SIZE=-1]"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. There's something about her chum who's come up to make chutney, too.
"gentle with the chunky bits", indeed........0 -

Stop it! lol
I still haven't seen last nights one, but I did enjoy watching tonights. Did anyone notice that stick figure like bear? Hubby and I both "awwed" when we saw that one!
I like Kirstie. I think her genuine personality comes through in her programmes and she's like your best posh friend who has no *real* concept of money, but has your best interests at heart.0 -
Quite enjoyed tonights show, didnt know soap making was so easy as Ive only done melt and pour before and as Asda have olive oil in 3 litre bottles for about 6 quid I think I may make some for next Christmas. The technique for the stocking was good, similair to log cabin but much simpler, may well use that one. last of all the tassely bits for parcels loved them, got everything I need for those. All in all a pleasant hour with a few useful bits.Clearing the junk to travel light

Why did she keep calling the soap scents 'flavours' ??
Well, even us soapmakers tend to call them that sometimes, especially when the scents used are foodie scents.I don't understand why people like soap. I much prefer a squirt of handwash or some nice shower gel. These don't make scum and a nasty mess of the shower either. If someone buys me soap for Christmas it's a worse crime than buying candles ie. shows no imagination and tells me they don't know what I would like.
Real soap is a more *natural* thing than detergents and also a bar of soap lasts a lot longer than a bottle of handwash/shower gel, so it's far more moneysaving.
A nice handmade soap WILL leave scum, because it doesn't have EDTA and other chelating agents to stop the scum. The scum isn't a bad thing. A nice handmade soap will also not (and might help) exacerbate dry skin conditions.0 -
Hey Kirstie, I am doing those jar pressies with sweets in this year, 89p from Ikea.0

Watching it now (well, ish). DDs are watching too whilst DD1 is trying to plan her next A Level Textiles piece. I have a sewing machine under the bed which I could let her use, her father and stepmum bought a mini one for her to use over there. But I think a good Xmas present for her might be her own textiles kit.
At the same time, DD2 is pleading to be allowed to put ribbons and sparkles on her clothes - I suspect that she was inspired by the craft shop.
Mind you, if one of my mates was a Baron's daughter (as if!) and all I got from her for Christmas was 40p of chocolate and a bit of haberdashery, I'd be pretty miffed...I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
