  • Hi all,
I've not been registered with this site long, but have been a MSE fan for ages! I'm a bit shy when it comes to posting on boards and stuff I get a bit shy thinking that people won't want to read anything I have to say! Anyway I wanted to post on here to thank the people that gave me the ideas about wombling in the car park! I just wanted to tell you about my success, in the last two weeks I have managed to top up my point from a measly £1.34 to a bigger £10.65. The reason I found it so useful is that over the last few months I've been steadily paying off my debts as myself and my fiancee have just bought our first home and want to be debt free from the start, anyway I've finally become debt free and am now saving very very hard for the wedding which I hope will be in 2008 (money allowing) when I found out tesco had teamed up with Virgin I realised there was a saving to be made on the honeymoon as we both want to go to Florida and on a cruise. So I started the wombling right away in various different Tescos, finding at least 50-70 points each time! I'm now so obsessed that I make my BF sweep one side of the car park while i sweep the other on the way in! Anyway sorry for waffling on but thanks to th egreat points boost = £40 off our honeymoon already! Not bad for 2 weeks work!!!

I used to get loadas points from wombling but recently the cleaners have got better :(

I was paying at the till in a small Tesco last week, and spotted a fairly long receipt on the floor next to my foot.

As I was just about to pay, key in my PIN number etc., I decided to grab it once I had my own receipt (making it look like I had dropped it). But in that minute a cleaner came along and grabbed it before I could even react!

Don't even know if it had a barcode anyway, so I told myself it probably didn't and went out and found a few points in the car park instead!

BTW, today I asked a CS guy to add some points for me from 'my husband's and my Mum's receipts, as they don't carry clubcards' (;) :D ) and was told 'OK I will do it this once, but you are only allowed your own points on your clubcard'. Flippin' jobsworth, my husband's card is the one I collect points on anyway! If I see that CS guy again I will say the points are mine next time.

I finally found some womble points! The cleaners in our Tescos are a crack team, so usually there's no chance, but yesterday I got a till spit for 45 extra points when you buy fabric softner - not much I know - but 'Every Little Helps' !!
I've got £35 worth on my account so far. I'm wondering though, how can I tell if extra points have been added, like when I got 1000 extra points for shopping online with a code. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks

Why not become a member of http://loyalty-points.co.uk/forums/index.php

They have all sorts of ways of maximising & gaining clubcard points, plus an excellent swaps page - you may not want your fabric softener till spit, but someone else might!
  • If I was to buy an electrical item for say £60 collect the clubcard points on this then return the item, when the money is given back would I then loose the clubcard points I earned in the transaction?

In my experience, yes. They generally ask for the Clubcard 1st, deduct the points, and then give you a refund. I've never not offered my card up for the deduction, so I don't know if they'd refuse you the refund if you didn't have the card or if they could make the deduction without the card being present.

I bought a braun blender pack at 29.99 yesterday with a voucher for 500 extra points in a baby club mailing. i returned the item today and said i had bought it for a wedding gift but someone else had already bought it. i did not hand my clubcard over so presume i have kept the extra 500 points.
    Just about to give up!

Can I ask - was it a large Tesco Extra store that you bought the blender from? It's just that I've got the same voucher and I've been intending to do exactly the same thing as you. But I've searched in 5 Tesco branches now and can't find the blender on sale anywhere!

Isn't this and the previous post stealing

I don't think so. All we are doing is asking for a refund. We're giving Tesco the opportunity to take back the bonus points if they wish to do so. Whether they choose to take them back or not is within their power and entirely up to them.
