Good God you guys are amazing. So if I phone tomorrow I will get 700 points just for asking for quotes. What about the mobile phones how much do you get in points for recycling them? We have a few here and I think I can round up a few more. Everyone has mobile phones they dont want. It says up to 500 in my Tescos but why UP to 500 does that mean I might only get 50? Thanks guys wish there was a Tesco near me. Taffy

Have a look at the checkout. You'll find a new flyer for tesco Car Insurance with a yellow circle saying 'FREE 500 Clubcard points for every phone quote'. You don't need the flyer. Just phone 0845 3010771 and give them your clubcard number. The lines are very busy at times but available 8 am to 9 pm M-F, 9-5 Saturday and 10-5 Sunday. If you want to go for the insurance, ask for the online discount to be applied (extra 10%) and there are extra benefits available (free breakdown cover) from 2nd July. The clubcard points offer ends 17 July.

Don't forget to recycle your old mobiles and spent inkjet cartridges(not Epson) in Tesco sponsored envelopes from customer services. 250 points for a mobile (up to 5 mobiles per 12 months per card number, thats 1500 points or £60 in deals) and 50 points for a cartridge. If you don't have any old mobiles buy some from your local car boot sale.

Do they take all other spent inkjet cartridges - I thought it was a very limited list! I have a Canon inkjet cartridge which I am wonder whether it would be worth sending off?

HP, Lexmark, Dell and Canon BC02/05/20/BX2/BX5 printer cartridges only, its on the envelope.

Note its now 100 points per cartridge and 500 points per working mobile (100 if it doesn't turn on) so charge them up before sending!

The total list can be found here:

I have an old IT storeroom to clear out tomorrow. Loads of old cartridges there!

Also applied for my Clubcard Plus. Seems to take about a month from the phone call requesting the application to having a working, activated card, so that should be ready this week.

With the shopping bags, I've found the best thing to do is to take a backpack with a load of carrier bags and a couple of Bags for Life. Use as many of the carrier bags as possible, then transfer them all into the Bags for Life while waiting for the bus.

Had a good wombling session this evening, took dog out in the pouring rain down the river. There was a regatta there yesterday, I figured there would be a few cans and bottles for the Tesco recycling machine. Came back with 45 items, mostly cans. Washed them out under the hose. Thats 45p towards my Deals!!! Dog walked too, and river now tidyer, very satisfying. Got one and a half compost sacks full of bottles and cans in last couple of weeks, mostly wombled. Must be about £2 in Deals there (50 points, 200 items).

    A bit damp though now.........!

How do you get points for recycling cans? Is there anything else you can recycle?
