Well thats a brilliant idea!! If it comes off! Why should on-line customers be penalised when we return our bags every week. Will be interesting to see how it works in practice.

Had my Tesco CC statement this morning. A leaflet with it saying double points on all purchases made abroad 1 June-30 Sept 2007.

Quite chuffed about this as going on a booze run on Monday to Calais so the CC will get a hammering! All gets paid off every month (so no interest to pay) so extra points for free.

I can't find anything about this promotion on the Tesco website?

    Cheers

It also said in that leaflet that we can buy holiday currency from Tesco finance with our Tesco CC and not pay a cash advance fee. Could be worth quite a few points n'est ce pas?

I went into the Beverley store last week, and they were giving 2 points for each Tesco bag reused (only 1 point for other bags). Not seen this before, and they're not doing it at my local store.

    Anyone else seen it?

Thats my local store and its completely random with the points for bags, very often i get nothing (and I can't be bothered asking at customers services), but then occasionally a member of staff will surprise you with more then expected!
  • can anyone tell me how many points you earn per pound spent each time I use my tesco mastercard in other places apart from tesco's?
    thanks
  • I have just booked my 2nd holiday with tesco vouchers .. first one last year with Haven which is very standard and this year with xl.com

Taking a look at their website and the hotels on offer, it seems to be that xl.com don't have many 'nice' hotels but rather use the ones that the big travel agents don't use. Of course this is not the rule across the board, just something I found in the range I was looking for.

I checked the hotels out on holidaysuncovered.co.uk and a couple of other consumer websites and I was horrified at some of the reports!

In the end, I settled for a very nice 4* Barcelo hotel in the Canaries for a week in Sept (half board) .. total cost £798 (inc taxes etc) .. vouchers for £410 so £388 cash paid for the OH and I to go on a weeks holiday.

Be careful also when booking with xl.com regarding transfers to and from the hotel. For our hotel, they were charging £10 per person each way but the hotel is only 5 kms from the airport so we'll get a cab for about half the price. If you do the research and fine the hotel is miles away, then of course £10 each way per person is a bargain.

Last thing ... I was told before booking the holiday that anything over and above the voucher price would have to be paid there and then but when I actually went to book it, another lady asked if I wanted to just pay the deposit now and the rest 8 weeks before travel. Great if you can do that as you can spread the cost.

    Happy holidays everyone.
