Hope this helps re recycling. A couple of links that maybe of interest:

Also a trawl of the web (inc planning applications etc) indicate the new machines are or will be installed at these stores soon, although this list is not exhaustive or complete but might be of interest:

Winchester, Havant, Portsmouth, Southampton, Andover, Royston, Shrewsbury, Hucknall, Ilkeston, Long Eaton, Haverhill, Isleworth, Loughborough, Feltham, Chichester, Harlow, Nottingham, Solihull, Hazelmere.

I think it might be a good idea for you to contact Tesco Customer Service rather than everyone keep asking the same question on the board!! At our new Tesco it says 16 stores have the new recycling facilities where you get points. As there are several hundred Tesco stores the likelihood of one being near you are currently quite small. Sorry about that but like I say everyone who hasn't encountered the facilities yet well that is why, cos they are currently at a very small number of very large stores. Better to phone or ask at customer services than for everyone to each post the question here I suggest?

    Cheers

Its more a points boosting board to pass on tips etc rather than a queries board for everyone to ask this sort of thing I think. I posted this just to clarify the small number of stores so far having these facilities, I noticed a growing number of people asking about the recycling machines but like I say, with so few having them it is probably best for now to call Tesco rather than everyone ask here cos clearly not many are fitted with the machines yet and we are just going to have a board full of people asking the same thing and most getting a negative answer!!! Clearly it would help to know which stores DO have a machine or one in the pipeline, hence why I spend some time trawling the net the other night (see earlier post) and why others have posted the info. According to my store it is less than 20 currently but going to around 100 by year end.

    Just my thoughts anyway.

Thanks so much for this post, before I got into MSE I'd been putting all our receipts on a spike so I'd know how much we were spending but I wasn't bothering to collect the points.

Now I've been re-educated and will be sending off my receipts!!!!

Once again pbfhpunk, many thanks for this gem of information!!!

    Hi,

I'm a little confused and just want to check I'm doing the right thing...

I've been collecting Airmiles for years, so a few years back or whenever it was that Tesco's started giving them, I organised for my points to be 'automatically' converted into Airmiles and every statement it shows how many new Airmiles have been added into my account.

Looking over the Tesco website, I'm not sure if what I am doing is the best thing!

Should I simply be registered for the Tesco Clubcard Deals and once my points are in there I can then decide how many I want to move into Airmiles and how many to use on other things (days out/food/RAC etc).

This makes sense to me to get 'the most out of them' - hopefully someone here also collects Airmiles thru Tesco's but maybe does it a different/better way?

    Thanks,

    Rybo

I was going to have a go for the sake of having a go at CS but when I reused 5 bags in the store the girl gave me 10 points!

I know my tesco have double green clubcard points at the moment so thats probably why. We quite often go in just for a few bits which don't need a bag and ask for a green point for not using a bag and each time we're given one so it's worth trying that even if it's just one point you're getting they all add up.

Finally you can get the green points for online shopping it has always baffled me why they send so many carriers with an online shop sometimes a carrier will have just 1 item in!!! got a mail yesterday that you can now choose to have your items delivered without bags and for every 10 items 1pt

    here is the mail
    Dear Mrs ********,

Great news! Our customers tell us that we use too many carrier bags – so we’re doing something about it. You now have the choice to have your groceries delivered without bags AND collect Green Clubcard Points as a thank you.

    Here’s how it works.

Next time you checkout your groceries, you’ll be asked to choose from two different options:

    1. Delivery Without Carrier Bags
Your shopping can be delivered straight from our green trays without carrier bags.* Your driver will unload your shopping in your kitchen or at the door if you prefer. We’ll give you 1 green Clubcard Point for every 10 items in your basket.#

    2. Delivery With Carrier Bags
Your shopping will be delivered as normal using carrier bags.

You’ll be able to change your choice at checkout at any time if you want.

Why not collect yourself some extra Points and help the environment too?

    Yours sincerely,
