Tesco Hatfield has a recycling facility.... and muller corners can be split to make two items...DOUBLE POINTS!!
When I was last at hatfield recycling there was a man watching the
re-cyclin g- initially I thoguht he was another customer but he was wearing uniform, sittign in his car and occasionally got out to check something. I wonder if he was checking for "abuses" of the recycling system - eg cutting up items into smaller and smaller pieces.
I might be wrong - just be aware- will report if I seee anything similar next time I am there this week.0 -

Tesco are rolling out recycling machines at some stores, which accepts plastic and glass. You put the products in one by one and it sorts it for you.
Some of them allow you to collect one clubcard point for every four items recycled.
To my knowledge there are ones at Hatfield and Cheshunt. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I read here a few weeks back that someone had been told that Tescos are no longer opening new Clubcard extra accounts. Most people didn't think this was correct. I got one about two months ago, when I was adding funds to my card this week the assistant told me that they are no longer opening new accounts. Maybe it was costing Tesco too much in points?0

Shrewsbury usually has a chap skulking who wanders over and asks if you need any help. When I say 'no thanks, I have used it before', he wanders away. I have seen him resetting one of the two glass/metal/plastic feeders that said it was out of order so he seems to be there to help if anyone has any problems. That said he wasn't around last week when it wasn't working at all!

I was at hatfield today and there was an assistant who was definately monitoring. The 2 women in front of me appeared to have brough unsorted rubbish - not all of it re-cyclablel He was keeping an eye on them. One was keen to try and recycle crisp wrappers which he didn't allow and made her put it in the "platic bag" slot (for which there are no points). He wandered away whe it was people with wellorgaised re-cycling tuff and tidied up elsewhere.
By the way has anyone ever got more than 20 points for re-cycling. I re-cycled 108 items (without any womling!) and was credited with 20 poinits- perhaps thats the limit0 -
i recycle at baldock and whilst i was there last time a lovely young lad who looks after the machine was saying to me to cut everything up as you got nothing to lose so now a coke bottle becomes six items :-) He was saying once in the machine they cant tell what the item was.
He also gave me the impression that the guys that look after the machines are not tesco employes they work for the recycling company as hes allowed to collect the unwanted points that customers dont collect.
Last trip i collect 38 points.0 -
TESCO vouchers and money off.
It could be that these are going to finish and become dedicated to an account.
IE: a discount voucher code will match your account and can only be used by the account holder for that account.
This will mean a voucher will be sent to an account holders e-mail so would stop others useing the same code.
In such a case I would think if you used your account every week or other week you would get no vouchers but if you did not use your account you would get vouchers to tempt you back to Tesco online shopping.
Shame I was just building up my miles.0
