we don't do 'abroad' can't afford passports!)

Why dont you set up a savings jar.. stick a passport picture on it.. and just bung in what you can here and there.. maybe just get one at time each time you have enough in there.. Orr maybe.. flog a load of bits an bobs on Ebay.. and all the proceeds go towards the *Passport fund*. Then without struggling too much you might have enough to have them all by next year instead. Then you are all set for the next how ever many YEARS.

    Eupho :)

    Edited to add:
Oo ALSO.. you can fill MOST of the forms out online.. you could do that and get them sent to you (that was all free when I did it- so Im assuming it still is).. IFFF its still the same.. I had those forms for nearly two YEARS.. then when I was about to get the Passports I called and asked if those forms were still okay to use.. and they said YUP- as long as nothing had changed.. it hadnt so I used them)..

That would be abit more encouraging for you maybe :)

Just noticed that you can use vouchers for Butlins. I aim to save enough for a family holiday next year....(we don't do 'abroad' can't afford passports!)

Just a word of warning - I've found that the Butlins offer doesn't give very good value when buying with Clubcard Deals.

I've saved all our vouchers up for the past year and had £80 worth of vouchers which I've converted to Deals (supposedly worth 4x the face value.)

The Deals vouchers can only be used against the full brochure price which is vastly exaggerated!!! We ended up using the vouchers and getting a four day self-catering break (paying the deals equivalent of £280). After checking on the internet, the exact same holiday would have only cost £93 if we'd paid in cash!!

I paid with £80 face value of vouchers so I've only actually ended up with an extra £13 by using them as deals rather than using them instore. :(

Obviously, I've got a free holiday out of it but don't feel that I've got a fantastic deal. :( Just a warning, in case you end up spending more money at Tesco, for example, just to boost your points. It probably isn't worth buying anything that you wouldn't have bought anyway as you won't be getting 4x face value in the long run. :(

you could always only buy stuff with bonus points (500 eg) and then take back for refund. Therfore nil spend but a free £20 in deals.

I personally wouldn't feel too comfortable doing that on a regular basis. :o

    Yes - it's a rip off.

Haven Holidays have the same caveat - total rip off.

It's not a total rip off.... It depends when you want to go. Obviously, if you go *off-season*..when Haven/Butlins do their half-price promo..then yes, i concur, it is cheaper to book with them direct & pay cash.
But if, like me, you're stuck with going in the 6-week school break, then there really isn't that much difference as the holidays are not discounted in this period.

Agree with you Patty. I've booked a free holiday for Whitsun and it wouldn't have been much cheaper if I'd paid cash.

Does anyone know when the cutoff date for may voucher posting is? I've racked up a load of green points from the recycling of phones/ink cartridges and need at least 2500 of them to go on in order to get our tussuads passes in time for the summer!
