hi am new & just started shopping with tesco clubcard a couple of months ago - can anyone tell me how you get till spits - have only had 2 in 2 months - is there a certain spend amount or any tricks

I seem to get my till spits on a Monday, not normally on small spends though, normally when I spend around £10 upwards

I am rather concerned as I have sent off three phones and only had one lot of 500 ''green'' points. All phones were sent around the same time but one was a Siemens phone that is on the firms website and two were Motorola ''bricks''. I am a little suspicious that although the Tesco promotions and envelopes are very simple and straighforward about the phones switching on or not, I reckon if the firm recycling them gets an old fashioned brick phone they don't give you anything for it.

I am also concerned about ink carts as I have sent quite a lot off this last month, some of which I bought off ebay working on the thought if they cost me a quid and I get 100 points I can use as 4 quid towards my holiday that was a good plan. I am now thinking I have spent a few quid on these, sent them off and now they have gone into a black hole, and I am none too happy. These were original unrefilled Lexmark and HP carts.

Just thinking, I did send five Lexmark ink carts off first so I have no idea if the 500 points are for these or the phone........

I have about 6 phones here, but Ive not been too sure about sending them away.
I would be quite happy to take then instore to get the points added, but Im not too happy about sending them away before I get my points

I've had points added for recycling 3 mobile phones without any problems.

There is a limit of 5 phones per year per clubcard account.

I had my first wombling experience this week. Picked up a 24 point receipt from an errant trolley that I was returning to a trolley bay, and a 7 pointer by a bin. Then later in the week spent 15 minutes walking around the car park by Tesco in Leatherhead and couldn't find anything at all! They must've just had a clean-up or something.

I was at CS taking some trousers back in my local Tesco, when someone was trying to add points on to their card, the girl refused as some showed diesel and others petrol and were obvious 'wombled'. They are on to us guys!

I started this thread, which I notice is 1 year old and didn't read all of it. Can I still join Card plus? I do all my shopping at Tesco, so may as well start earning more points for it.

Just noticed that you can use vouchers for Butlins. I aim to save enough for a family holiday next year....(we don't do 'abroad' can't afford passports!)

Hiya Azjh.. yes you can still join Clubcard plus..
You can only get one by calling and asking.. The number is around here somewhere, I'd look for you but I have to go out (NOW! haha)..
Just find the number, call them up and say you would like to open a Clubcard plus account. They will send you the paperwork.. (theres abit more too it than a normal Clubcard- Its a little more like banking, so you have to fill out all that bumpf).

Then you send it back and wait for bits and bobs to come, I think my card came first, then the PIN (which I have NEVER had to use to far, always just had to sign at the til.. so DONT lose it, Or its eaaaaaaaaaasy for someone else to use to pay for THEIR shopping.

You can set it up from just a £1 (the bloke even told me on the phone) so dont dont worry about feeling stingey haha.. I set mine up to DD £10 a month.

Then work out roughly how much you are going to spend in store (and or petrol- you can use it there too) and just either add it online (you'll see the ways to pay in) .. or (like me) just each time you go into Tesco.. go to the CS desk and say.. Can I put blah blah amount on my card please. (ive even done of a tenner)
Then do you shopping.. and as you get to the till tell the cashier you want to PAY with this (show card) as opposed to just swiping like normal (for normal points) that way you get double points each time. Only on what you actually spent though, it wont double *extra points* coupons. Only what you actually spent yourself.

I didnt use mine for aaaaages because I lost the PIN.. then when I found it. Ive never been ASKED for it.. only to sign hahaha. (it has no chip)

I think you CAN draw money out of it but it was only at one bank.. I THINK It was RBS (it was with an R anyway hahaha ermm I THINK :rolleyes: ).. Its like a bank account sort of.. it reminds me a a school smart card.. same idea really.
