Can you help, I've been looking at your note about the Tesco Clubcard plus, how do you get one? I've looked back through the threads, but it doen't tell me how to do it.

Hello there

A wee question. I have just got a Tesco's credit card and used it for the first time yesterday. I got a £35 shop in Tesco and gave the lady my Clubcard, I got 40 points because I had 5 bags withs me.

I then paid with the card.

How many points will I get for using the card and when do they get added to my points running total that I see on my till receipt.

Not sure on the answer to that, but I do know that you do not need to give them your clubcard aswell because your CC IS your clubcard, so no need to give them 2 things to swipe!

The number for the Clubcard + helpline is 08457 10 40 10. saynoto0870 give another number 0141 3088028 but I've never tried it. The freephone number they also list is only for balance enquiries.

40 points on your normal clubcard and 43 points for using the cc (not sure if they round up to 44) as you get 5 points for every £4 you spend.

Think it depends whether it's owned by tesco or not. I was recently witha friend in a rented car and we went to a petrol station tied to a tesco express and they wouldn't take my clubcard.

Are you saying 40+43 = 83 points for this transaction ? I do not think this is right .....

I make it

5 for bag reuse
35 for spending £35
8 for using the credit card (they'll round down to £32)
Total 48 points

40 points will be on your receipt, the 'TPF' (tesco personal finance) points usually take 2 or 3 days to be added.

The promo info states 5 points for £4, but 4 of them are 'normal' clubcard points you would get any way and the 5th point is for TPF for using the credit card.
