Have just received offer from Tesco saying they would give me GBP1.00 for every inkjet recycled to settle the matter of my so-called "excessive recycling". Aren't they worth GBP4.00 if I had converted them to deals?
  • I have just applied for a clubcard plus card. Can anyone tell me, if I put money on the card at customer services, how long will it take to go on the card, as I want to put the amount I'm going spend on then get my shopping and pay with the card.

I have a Clubcard plus account and when I phoned them to ask how long it takes for money to be added to the account at customer services I was told to allow a full working day. This didn't suit me as I needed to shop there and then so I didn't take the risk of the money being added in time. Although if you have no money on the card you can't use it anyway as when it is scanned it will only allow you to pay for your shopping if you have money in your account, so you could try adding some at customer services and then using the card to pay. If it won't let you then use some other means of paying. Martin says the money is added instantly, perhaps this is something Tesco don't want as common knowledge?

When posting instructions(and exhortations!)for people to take up the wonderful Clubcard Plus, I have written cash desposits for immediate access become available straightaway, Monday to Friday, sometimes requiring o/n at weekends.
My money 'banked' around 13h today was immediately used without problem and I'm now told any money deposited before 18h is always accessible for checkout payment.
My Monthly DD is only £1.
I have also clarified today that my Tesco SIM/Mob. top-up(being £10 or over)will attract 8 points per £, as I have registered mob. no to CC+.
This can be done online, or via Tesco Freephone 282.
    Worthwhile.

    YES!!!!!!!

Write to Customer Services, quoting the terms of their own offer back to them.

Just be consistent and accurate - you may have to play ping-pong with an exchange of letters, but just keep taking it higher.

Obtain a Certificate of Posting for every letter, or send it Recorded Delivery.

As i said over on PTS write back saying this is not good enough. You want £4 per ink as that is what they are worth. Tell them they have 14 days to reply and accept your offer or you shall persue it in small claims court. If they fail to reply or refuse saying final offer is something different they file the claim in the courts. Tesco will not let it go to court as they know they do not have a leg to stand on and if it did go to court it would set a president and tescos would be too worried that this will go against them and open flood gates.
