    hi
    its 4 items = 1 point and
yes you can take it instead of the council picking it up - I only found out when due to the recent high winds we left our tins cans and glass in the porch ready to be put out for the collection in the morning normally around 7am - 10am however on this particular morning they got to us at 6am (I guessed as everyone had kept the stuff in so it would not blow over) so I bet they finished that job really early (council should of sent them back round really)
our collections every two weeks so I just put it in the back of my car and popped to tescos and noticed it took a club card hence my early post.. so now the council will only be given the paper and rubbish Im collecting for a family trip to disney paris in a few years time

I have a Clubcard plus account and when I phoned them to ask how long it takes for money to be added to the account at customer services I was told to allow a full working day. This didn't suit me as I needed to shop there and then so I didn't take the risk of the money being added in time. Although if you have no money on the card you can't use it anyway as when it is scanned it will only allow you to pay for your shopping if you have money in your account, so you could try adding some at customer services and then using the card to pay. If it won't let you then use some other means of paying. Martin says the money is added instantly, perhaps this is something Tesco don't want as common knowledge?

I paid £100 onto my Clubcard Plus on the day before Good Friday at 1.00pm hoping to use it to pay for my shopping the next day - unfortunately it wasn't cleared in time to use at 3.00pm on Good Friday so not sure whether the Bank Holiday on the Friday meant it wouldn't clear - but I have read on here that it should be clear almost immediately :confused:
So, I'll try again this week and see what happens!...........

By recycling your glass, plastics and cans at one of the tescos recycle centres you swipe you card and can also earn points

Thanks v much for this, i didn't know about it until I read you post and have just come back from my local Tesco where they do have one of these machines - had a word with CS about what I can and can't get points on and I'll be saving all my (recyclable) rubbish for my shopping trips now! :D

Me and my partner do quite well out of making use of special clubcard coupons from the baby and toddler club. So far we have not bothered with clubcard plus, but I am very tempted (apart from the fannying about with topping up the balance). What I want to know is, say I get 200 extra clubcard points for buying some nappies, if I had clubcard plus, would that then be 400 points?

    Thanks
