How many points does the clubcard credit card pay? i heard 1.25 extra points for every pound... so total 2.25 points.

And 0.25 point for non-tesco purchases.

    Anyone know how these work?

At my local one the CS staff were clueless.

Is it 4 items for 1 point?

I take it the little slot is for a key fob?

Does it beep or anything or tell you that you've got points?

I used this facility recently - it took my recycling but no points - and like I said CS staff were as helpful as a fart in a spacesuit....

I'd also be interested... What items get recylced?
  • Okay the recycling centre (for plastics, glass and cans) has a slot for your key fob or a slat for you to swipe your club card so you can use either

pull your car up to the recycle centre - the only one to give you points is the plastics, cans and bottles (usually on the far right of the centre) however they also take plastic bags and cardboard.

first thing to do is either swipe your card or stick in your key fob, the recycle centre has a tv type screen which will say registering when it has accepted your card (i sometimes have to swipe a few times)

once it says accepted on the screen enter each item one at a time it does not matter if you enter a plastic bottle after a glass bottle as it sorts it automatically. The screen will tell you what it is and how many items you have put in.

Once finished press the finished button on the bottom right of the screen it will then tell you how many green points you have earned.

then pop into your car and drive off listening to gary newman - cars
  • Good summary Smittenkitten, the one in Stafford is exactly like that. The one in Meir mentioned above by Cazian14 is slightly different. It will only accept a key fob not a card and doesn't give you your points total at the end. It seems to me Tesco have a program of rolling these machines out slowly across the country. The Stafford one is not too reliable but the Meir one seems much better so maybe they have modifed the design? Hope they all give points as I have stood for ages stuffing rubbish into them!!

When I asked CS about the recycle centre last week they said the Biggleswade one will only take the key fob and not the card

Anyone seen any of these recycling centres in Scotland? And I don't have a key fob, I take it I can order one at cs?

I couldn't see anything on the voucher which said that mini bottles of wine were excluded so I tried it. Till wouldn't accept them so I went to CS who put the extra points through without a second glance. So 50 points for a bottle of wine which costs £1.xx.:j

There does not seem to be any in Scotland, & certainly none in Northern Ireland or Wales  .

We seem to come pretty far down Tesco's list for most things, even collection points for Tesco Direct are few and far between  .
