:mad: I am really annoyed, I went to Tescos today shopping only to find that my points have been deleted from my account. Are Tescos able to do this??
:mad:0 -
I have used the recycling facility at Stafford and (as far as I know) I got one point for every four items - thats what the signs said and the display screen.
When a new facility opened at Cannock (Heath Hayes) I presumed that it was the same - but I then realised that there aren't any signs saying that and although your clubcard is "accepted" the screen just says "well done" when finished.
I have asked more than once in the store and been told that I am earnng points, but I am not convinced.
Anyone know for sure ?

E-mail from Tesco HQ:
With regards to your further query on the recycling units at our store.
In 2006, we introduced Britain's first fully-automated recycling machine (TOMRA units), which sorts plastic, metal and glass, rather than expecting our customers to do so. The machine uses revolving arms to throw bottles at an inbuilt stone wall and knives to shred plastic. Breaking the waste down in this way means that the new machine stores 50 times as much waste and needs to be emptied less often than a traditional recycling unit. Our research predicts that the new equipment will encourage our customers to triple the amount of waste they bring to stores for recycling.
Also to promote the recycling units we offer the incentive of Clubcard Points can be earned at these units. For every 4 items customers recycle they will receive 1 clubcard point back.
Unfortunately since introducing the units we have been faced with quite serious issues with some of the units around the country and have been forced to implement measures to stop Clubcard points abuse and to improve Health & Safety issues with the units.
Therefore, due to the actions of a small number of irresponsible individual we will no longer be able to offer Clubcard points. We will also have to remove the paper and cardboard facilities as theses units have been set on fire causing potential dangers to members of the public.
It is believed that towards the middle of the year the Clubcard system and Paper & Cardboard facility will be removed from all Recycling Units.
Please note that the Recycling Units are Council owned and managed. It is therefore the Councils' responsibility to ensure the Units always have the capacity to take products for recycling from customers, ie regular cleaning up to keep the site tidy, and to report any faulty units.

Have a look on the PTS site, Shaun123 started a thread "has anyone had their points taken away" who lost their points, along with loads of others came forward who also had their points taken off. Some got them back after challenging Tesco. Worth a read!!exercise that booty!0 -
