We got a clubcard plus...basically you load cash onto the card when you want to go shopping (or you can pay by direct debit)and as long as you dont go over drawn you dont pay any fees.

We put on a set amount each month (as you have to set up a DD)this could be £1....then we load £50 on before we go for a shop or however much we think we will spend. You can also use it on petrol.

One thing we learnt was that you have to sign for the purchase, its not a pin number so we need to see if we can get another card for my partner as it is a pain I have to sign for them all the time.

We havent had our points statement but understand it is double points on everything (except promotions)

    Thanks
whats clubcard plus? how do i join? thanks

I don't think it would work - I am often asked if I want to use it to pay with as well as as a clubcard - when they swipe it on the till it is as clubcard, then it goes into machine for payment (or straight into machine for both, depending on vouchers), so if you swipe your clubcard first then the only points you'll get on your credit card would be the ones you would get from anywhere for spending on the card.

As far as I am aware my tesco credit card also acts as my clubcard (proved when I have forgotten my 'normal' credit card) but whether I linked them when I applied for the credit card I can't remember.

Also any expenditure that I make on my tesco credit card also attracts points (abet at a different rate) so you do get additional points if you pay for your tesco shopping with your tesco credit card

(If you look at a tesco receipt by the bit where it shows your points total, there should be a breakdown and the points you've earned through your credit card will be shown as TPF)

Ask for them to send you a CC+ application form.

Tip: When you send it back, don't put an existing clubcard number on it. They might not tie the new card to your existing clubcrd and then you will get 2 mailings which include the general shopping points.

    hi, just a quick question,
i have a normal clubcard and a tesco credit club card.

i always use my tesco c/c to pay for shopping at tesco, then pay off balance at the end of month to avoid interest.

should i use my normal clubcard first at the checkout , then my c/c will i received points on both or does it only work on one or the other.?

If you use your clubcard before the credit card (c/c) all you will receive on the c/c is the point per £4. spent assuming that is the type of c/c you have, as the clubcard will have sourced the regular points.
If your cards are linked and you are paying the balance just use the c/c no need to use the club card.

I don't see the benefit of this over a Tesco Visa Card myself  and a Visa card is easier to pay a monthly bill once a month rather than topping this up etc?

Your choice - but DOUBLE POINTS ON EVERY SPEND PAID WITH CLUBCARD PLUS, is superior to the Credit Card every time you shop at Mr T
If you want a Credit Card for other spending to gain points, you could use Mr T's, but the points rate is not superior to other Loyalty Schemes.
