  • If you can spend them on amazon that's great! I thought you could just earn them on amazon, not spend them? Looking into this right now!

I've tended to do it the long handed way. Go to CS or the electric counter and buy a £25 Amazon gift card and pay with nectar points.

Getting gift cards is quite a good way of spending your points. They do them for various eating places eg Pizza Express. So in theory your Tesco deals vouchers could pay for a meal out and your Pizza Express gift card (bought with nectar points) would pay for drinks!

They also do B and Q cards and New Look gift cards which are useful to have at sale time.

  • I've earned £150 worth of Nectar points and have been waiting for decent double value spending deal for several years, but nothing comes up. Current double values are for theme parks and Gourmet Society, but parks and chain restaurants do 2 for 1 all the time anyway and they are available everywhere (including MSE). Oriental Express is not practical either. How can we spend the points then??? Should I give up and start using points at Argos, Amazon, Sainsbury's? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Same here!! I think I remember there was double points spend value on Argos once, but I think that was years ago! I've been holding out for another such offer, and so I too have £150 worth! Will just spend them on Amazon otherwise...

Yes it was years ago. I doubled my Nectar points for Argos vouchers when they ran the offer.

This is what disappoints me about Nectar and to an extent makes it an inferior scheme to Tesco Clubcard. Tesco's deals make the points worth collecting whereas however you spend your Nectar points, they're still only worth £2.50 for 500. It is a shame that Nectar don't offer special promotions where your points are worth more.
  • Snap. Although having lost my Shell card recently, I think my fuel purchases have bumped my £160 to nearer the £200 mark. I am at the point where I actually cannot be bothered to collect the niggly points of Amazon (even if they are triple) whereas with Clubcard I would fight for every missing 25 points (=£1 towards my next free meal).

Earlier this year (possibly a year ago) they did do a double value exchange 500 points for £5 worth of Philips products but the range on offer was limited and they did not have the exact items I wanted so I passed on it.

I think they would be innundated by £1000s of claims from MSEers when the do eventually offer something half decent.

Btw not sure if this has already been mentioned you can link your Nectar to your eBay account to your Nectar one so that you chock up points each time you shop on eBay. This is a partnership, not a click through so you will always get the points as you don't need to remember to click via the Nectar site.

I'm having a little Nectar Points Challenge this year, to see how many I can earn this year.
So far I have got a nectar credit card, to do my grocery and fuel spending on (to pay off in full monthly of course).
I do the Nectar AdPoints (max 250 points a week)
Nectar Surverys, 25-50 a week sometimes.

I had about £10 at the start of the yerar and I am aiming for at least £50, probably to use for Amazon vouchers towards Christmas presents.

    Anyone else fancy joining me?

THanks, I have got the toolbar, a bit annoying but I want all the points! Very impressed with your total, how long did that take you?
