I use my Nectar card for purchases I make for the business I work for on eBay, I have the permission of the MD to do this.

Anyway 6 weeks ago Nectar froze my account without warning or giving me a reason why. I used every form of communication they offer bar carrier pigeon only to be eventually told that my account is under investigation, no other information was given. I was told a senior member of staff would ring me, but this of course has never transpired.

I complained on their Facebook page hoping that a public message may spur them on, but all I got was another email saying that my account was under investigation.

It's been 6 weeks and I really don't know what my options are, if I contact them they just give the same copy and paste response or I speak to an Indian with the promise of a more senior member of staff ringing me back.

I understand they have a right to protect themselves from fraud, but 6 weeks is a long time to figure out whether or not I'm a Sainsbury's employee that is scanning his/her card instead of the customers. There are a lot of points on the card and I now feel that Nectar are never going to unfreeze the account.
Are you buying them in your own name or that of the business?

Yes I expect using it for business purposes would breach their Ts and Cs, or else every other person with a business would be doing it too.

I cannot find anything in the T&cs that indicates this.

• This seemed to be the place to put this, but sorry if not, just to say bonus points (50 per item) are available in Local stores at the moment, for example on bananas, tuna chunks, strawberry jam, Bourbons and Custard Creams.

Double points this weekend at Sainsburys, Homebase, and a few other places, everyone!
Since Jan 2014 -- Clixsense -- £300 (join us! ♥) | Valued opinions £120 | Nectar Fanatic (SavvyShoppers/Canvass)
• Went to double up £10 of Nectar points to £20 to buy a toy for Christmas. The toy cost £19.99 and was told at Sainsburys Wakefield that I can't spend the points as the item was less than £20. Be warned, it looks like you have to buy things costing more than your points.

Needs to be at least the value of the voucher.

Try and find a cheap toy to take it over the £20.

Just had a similar experience when trying to buy a £29.99 toaster using a £30 voucher. Ended up also buying some batteries to make it OVER £30. This has got to be one of the most stupid rules ~ wasn't asking for (or expecting) the 1p change but Nectar's inflexibility is annoying to say the least. I will no longer be shopping at Sainsbury.
• To use your voucher simply give the voucher to the cashier at the checkout before 11.59 Tuesday 25 November 2014. Remember, to redeem your voucher you need to have spent at least up to the value of the voucher in your chosen department. No change is given for vouchers.
