Register your account online and you can check your poitns total, where you shopped and when points have gone on and from what source. You can also get bonus point offers.

    Wombling - probally illegal.

But having said that I am sure that Nectar encourage to collect points for other people - it does say this someone on the website
“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”

I think the question relates to the definition of wombling as "Finding receipts where the points haven't been added" as in, how do you know if you find a receipt that its one on which the points have not been claimed.

I expect that the answer is, because it says so on the receipt. I must admit I'm not that familiar with Sainsbury's receipts, but Tesco have a great big 'SIGN UP FOR CLUBCARD' message, followed by a statement that 'You could have earned x clubcard points in this transaction' on their receipts where no Clubcard was used, so its bloomin obvious.

I doubt that it's 'illegal' in the true sense of - you could be arrested, charged, and convicted of a criminal offence for so doing.

Yes, wombling is when you try to add points from receipts that were not yours (ie found in the trolley or around the bin).

If the receipt you found has no "you earned XY points this visit, your current total is... " then the person who bought this goods used no nectar card. I think it says "you could have earned XY points this visit" instead.

Wombling is against Nectar's T&C... so they could stop your account. If you keep coming every day with 10 receipts I think it is obvious you are wombling, but a receipt here and there.. how would they find out.

You can get either a £10 voucher or a £25 one and I think it includes soft drinks

  • I buy quite a bit on Amazon and always go via Nectar to collect points, and I've just found that where I've bought more than one of the same item, I've only been credited with one lot of points - in one case, I bought 5 of the same thing, and some of the goods were quite expensive, so I'm not a happy bunny.

I've emailed them to ask for the points, but it does seem a flaw in the system, if they can't tell if you increase the quantity of goods in your basket. Top Cash Back manage to!

I think in future I'll keep going back to the page and clicking on 'Add to basket' individually each time if I want multiple of the same item just to be sure, because if they don't come through, I've lost points on hundreds of pounds worth of goods :(

    Hi guys,
wondering whether anyone has the answer....
Our Sainsburys have lots of different gift cards (Next, Debenhams...), can I just buy one and pay for it fully with points? (without spending on food?)

If not, I will just have to go and do shopping and have one of the gift cards as a part of my shopping and then reclaim my points up to the value of food bought... but I would rather not do that.
  • To earn free Nectar points download the Nectar toolbar and do your searches through their search engine, this get you 1 point for 2 searches and upto a maximum of 50 points per month. Also if like me you do alot of online buying you can earn point by using selected websites that have afilliated themselves with nectar points. The main ones are Ebay, Amazon, there are plenty others too. This gets you 1 point for every pound you spend.

Also if like me you dont own a car but use a car share company then use their fuel card and fill up at either BP or Sainsburys, just give your nectar card over when using their fuel card. You get the points for free and the car company pays for the fuel....Bargain!:j
  • You should be able to as its a purchase in store, I havent seen anything that specifies that you must buy food as well, it says that you can spend points on your shopping, so if thats all your purchasing then thats your shopping ! :-)
