I see British Gas are moving to Nectarpoints and therefore EDF are leaving the scheme :(

Pity-may have to see how BG compare pricewise and perhaps move supplier.

May not be as good as it sounds. You can only get a maximum of 50 points a month for 100 searches which is 25p, so over a year you could only benefit by £2.50 or £3 if you include the 100 bonus for joining up. That's 1200 searches work!

True but I don't search for the sake of it, I do that many searches in my normal eveningtime boredom breaking so I may as well do it for 25p a month.

Prob not worth spending any extra time though :)

    That is what I do.
I have it installed and so far every month I reach the maximum on my normal every day searches.

As you say - I might as well get points for nothing.

    WARNING ABOUT THIS!

Tonight my IE was taken over by this, It went to this page

    http://search.freecause.com/?m=dns&toolid=61465&userid=37433713&p=www.thatfreebie.com&dnss=1

I did a clean and ad-ware and it was still there, in the end i read this thread (thanks) and removed the toolbar and now my IE is back to normal.

Download this at your own risk.

  • Apologies if this has already been mentioned but there's an iPhone app (maybe for other phones too) for Nectar that gives you bonus points when shopping. It's free to download and informs you of any bonus offers as they happen.

For example I got triple points using this on my last Sainsbury's shop, plus bonus 100 points for buying a four pack of Baked Beans and then another 1,000 bonus points when I spent more than £10 at Homebase. Also got another 1,000 bonus points for spending over £5 at BP.

I've got around £13 of points now and only spent a total of about £125 to get them.

  • Today I checked my online Nectar Statement as with Christmas approaching have been doing more than the usual shopping online and was surprised to see that none of my Amazon transactions (clicked through via the Nectar toolbar) are showing.

If you go to My Account within Nectar.com and 'view detailed transactions' this shows you which online retailer and the quanity of points which have been allocated. Ebay, Play.com as well as purchases instore at Sainsbury show up individually, but not a single Amazon transaction!

I rung CS to quary this, and was told it can take up to 28 days for points to appear on your statment, but transactions I made and shipped out in September are not showing, let alone more recent ones.

I re-ring CS with all my transaction details, £'s, dated shipped info from Amazon, and the 2nd operator confirmed that 90% of the transactions are showing at their end, but not on the statement. I am now awaiting a call back from them on Friday to confirm what is going on - because as far I can see I have not been awarded these points as they do not appear on my statment.

Just thought I would post this to see if anyone else is having the same problem and if so hopefully we can get our points allocated correctly:)
  • bump - does anyone else collect nectar points through the toolbar?
Have your Amazon points been awarded on your statement?

I deleted the toolbar as I was having problems and I am not sure if it solved them or not but something did so I am not bothering to re-install since it is such a low amount of money anyway!
