Anyone Else Have a Christmas Day Child?

..or am I the only one?
My DS2 will be 5 on Christmas Day and while this makes him even more special, it's hard getting used to saying Happy Birthday first rather than Happy Christmas!
What do others do for birthdays etc. We were thinking of having an 'un-birthday' party each year in June to split the year up, but just wondered how others do it?

My DD has a friend with a Christmas Day birthday. As friend also has a sibling the family celebrate Christmas (opening presents etc) until the time they have finished their Christmas lunch then it's friend's birthday celebration for the remainder of the day so she gets to open her cards and presents then.0

My boyfriend is a Christmas Day baby (he calls it Joshmas) and it is quite easy to forget that it is his birthday as Christmas takes over so much! He always whinges that he didn't get "enough" presents when he was little, but goodness knows how many "enough" would be... I'm not sure if he ever did anything halfway through the year, his parents are a bit tight so probably not

My auntie's birthday is Christmas Eve and she had her son on Boxing Day!0 -
Crikey I find it hard enough being 3days before xmas...I remember once my parents had a party for me the week before and I was gutted when Santa turned up:( Apparently it was arranged by my aunt and my parents were fuming...can understand why now coz 20yrs later I still remember it! Talk about scarred for life!:rotfl:
My friend is xmas day, she tried having a non-birthday in the summer(when we were kids) but nobody turned up coz of summer hols and a few even said..."it's not a proper one so whats the point":eek:
Her family used to have Christmas day as Christmas day(mainly so she wasn't different to any of her friends:rolleyes:) and then have her birthday on boxing day:D Now she's older they tend to split the day...morning is xmas and they have xmas unch and do all the xmas stuff and as soon as it hits 6pm its birthday time:D They have a buffet and snacks in the evening and all the family go round..they purposely don't put xmas decs up in the family room so that her birthday isn't over-shadowed by xmas IYSWIM Hope this helps:D Btw she's now 25 and they still do this:rotfl:1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

My husband's birthday is the 30th December and he never got seperate presents just a "bigger" one to cover both which of course wasn't any more.
I always make sure that he gets something on his birthday and we celebrate it with going out for a meal.
My uncle was born on Christmas Eve and very few people remember including his own mother!Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

mine is on the 22nd of december and it's really hard. I never had a birthday party because most people are so in to christmas that they either forget or are bogged down with cristmas pressies to think about birthdays too. I remeber getting a few pressies that were for 'christmas and your birthday' , however that stopped as I gave people their 2 in 1 pressies in june on their birthday, lol.

Now I go usually go out for a nice meal with my fiance and then maybe go to a nice bar after and have a small cake. This year is my 22nd and it's probably going to be the same, nice dinner and dance somewhere just me and him, lol.
One day I swore I'd hold a big birthday party in August so that I could have a 'proper' birthday! :beer:0 -
My mothers birthday is on xmas day and she seems to think the whole world has to stop and revolve around her on xmas day  she actually ruined my eldests first xmas by getting drunk early in the morning 'coz it was her birthday' she ended up having a row with my dad about lunchtime and she put the xmas dinner in the bin that he had spent hours cooking  I got in a taxi and went home had very little to do with her ever since!
With this one my original due date was xmas day but it was later changed to the 6th Jan im hoping he comes later rather than sooner though :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for all your replies, it's amazing that everyone tried to lump it into one!
We usually have friends and kids get together on Xmas eve for them to bring his presents over (we're at the stage where people still feel sorry for him/us). On Xmas morning we open birthday cards and presents first in bed in our room, so all birthday stuff is done there and done first, then we manically run down the stairs to do Santa presents and do the Xmas thing.
It's weird and no good for my waistline having birthday cake and Xmas pudding on the same day though! But it would be rude not to!0 -
My nephews birthday is Christmas Eve, my sis makes sure he always gets a party, wether it's big or small. But it is usually the week before, so there is at least a bit of a gap, but she will also keep her presents to him to open on Christmas Eve so there are at least some birthday presents for him on his birthday. (I also insist my pressies aren't opened til xmas eve)0

Fingers crossed for you! DS2 was due on 4th Jan though! I only finished work to go on maternity leave on Xmas Eve as well! Had planned to have a home birth anyway, which was a good job as it was only an hour from start to finish and to be honest, 30 mins of that was waiting for the midwife to turn up! Still went to mums for Xmas lunch and played football with DS1 on Boxing Day....madness0
