GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRR I am foaming with anger some lowlife scum has broken into the sheds on the allotments again, that’s the third time this year….the Police do not want to do anything and the council will just change the locks again. It makes me so mad, its just mindless vandalism. We went up to see the damage, I think this is a step too far for us……we can only take so much. I am going to as DS2 to make us a large raised bed for the back and two more containers for the sides, we have the small greenhouse so we can start our seeds off in there. At least we will be able to keep our eyes on the stuff.christmasholly9.jpg

  • Hi All
Hubby enjoyed his first day in new job so that's a relief.
We're having mixed grill tonight, mainly because in the freezer I found 2 dinky lamb chops, half a gammon steak, tiny piece of rump steak & 2 odd sausages.
Hugs to all those worried about friends & family.
I must go & run the vacuum over the downstairs
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Heavenleigh hun, I wasn't going to post today, but I just wanted to send you a hug ((hug)) - I can only echo what the other posters have said and say that when he was little you made the best choice for him at the time. You asked for advice at the time and did what was best for your LO on the basis of the advice you were given. This makes you an amazing mum because you know your child.

My sister had the combined MMR jab and was ill afterwards - so my mum made the decision not to have my younger sister immunised on the basis of what she'd seen happen to the elder one. As much as I agree with vaccinations, if your GPs couldn't say it was a good decision, you made the right choice. Hope your little one feels better soon. cel x

csarina - So sorry to hear about the allotment sheds :( Sounds a good idea to do some growing at home instead, but what a shame you should have to!

Hester - So glad DH likes the job :j

tru - Your poor DH, what a shock for you both but at least it sounds as if he should be okay x

Smokybabe - Forgot to say how much I'm enjoying your Christmassy pics!

Zippychick (((HUGS))) to you, I hope you manage to find some calm soon.

heavenleigh - Sorry the doc upset you so much  As others have said, you had to make the decision that seemed best at the time. I remember my friend's children getting mumps in the days beforee the MMR existed, one was 3 and one was 5, they got over it quickly with no problems (apart from the painful glands of course) so hopefully Logan will too x

Been to Mr A for some shopping, unfortunately forgot to write one thing on my list but we're going to Lidl tomorrow or Thursday so will get it then. I also want some of their lovely tuna in olive oil

Hope everyone has a good evening.

Just popping in to say thank you to all who have given their good wishes.
As a rational person i agree that i have done nothing wrong.
But as the mother with a poorly child with mumps believe me the rationality has gone out the window and i'm not sure i can humanly cry anymore!
Thanks all for the good wishes and i pray to god no complications come from this, i really dont know how i would live with myself xx

These decisions are hard to make. Because of my dh's medical history it was recommended that my dd didn't have the whooping cough vaccine, just the others given at the same time. By the time it came to ds, medical opinion had changed, but we felt that in all honesty we had to treat them both the same. Fortunately we didn't get any resistance from the medicals on this. We spoke to primary schools/nursery about it and kept our ears open for cases of whooping cough. Thank heavens it was never an issue.

Been to Mr T and didn't spend much of the money on food, got some socks for ds, pants and jamas for dh and some thermals 3/4 length for me to wear as jama trs. Few bits and pieces of the remaining food for Christmas.

Very MS tonight, as I said earlier SIL is in town and MIL wants to take DS and I for an early dinner. DS has morris dancing later so I don't feel bound to stay late. My first thought was that I didn't want to go out, but I shan't need to make much effort as ds will keep the talking going! I saw SIL in this morning and MIL recently too. And we get nice food - tapas.

    Evening all

Heavenleigh - I agree with all the other posters, you were NOT being a bad parent, you were being a totally reponsible one, acting on the information you had at the time. I work for GP's and know how some of them can belittle people(luckily the ones I work for are not like that but we have had a few locums who have!) - I am sure if you went to see a different one you would have a much more balanced view! Fingers crossed for Logan that he comes through quickly and without too much discomfort.

Tru - thank goodness he was diagnosed early and it can now be dealt with!

Redruby - hope by now you have heard something - talk about living on your nerves with house moves!

Csarina - sorry to hear about the breakin - what do these people get from such vandalism:eek:

Been a mad day at work, lots of staff off (holidays etc) glad to get home as I slept so badly last night (ended up getting up at 1.30 and knitting till it was time to go to work!) SO might get a really early night tonight. Luckily all easy teas as they are all doing different things tonight - burgers, eggs, sausage type meals (trying to empty freezer still).

Wm on but other than that very little OS today I am afraid. Will do some more knitting this evening as I want to do a few more scarves for extra presents!

    Have a good evening all

My work kids did their first Santa's Grotto today and it went really well :j we had to change plan slightly and do it indoors instead due to the rain but it was great. I was v proud of them. Got 2 schools tomorrow.

I've finished all my Xmas shopping too , almost all of it is wrapped now too, just a few left. All my cards are written and ready to be posted or handed out.

The man came to finally fix my window tonight, so no more draught!! yey.

Need to tidy and finishing wrapping presents tonight. I made bread in my BM on the turbo setting yesterday but it was rock solid :( not used turbo before and won't again!

    Have a good evening all

    Evening everyone.

Well you get one child on the road to recovery and the other one gets sick  DD is now ailing - can see this being a pretty pants Christmas at this rate.......

Anyway got DD's stocking finished. Pics below. I must stress the actual stockings are BOUGHT not HM :o But I have put the names on with felt and sequins. I don't remember it being such a faff last time but anyway it's done now and I can spend the rest of the evening picking the glue off my hands like dead skin :rotfl:

I confess I prefer DS's stocking as it just looks nicer to me (more expensive probably!) but there seems to be a national shortage on decent Christmas stockings as DD's was the best I could get last year and I've looked this year and there is nothing.

Heavenleigh - I can only echo what everyone else has said. You are not a bad mother - you made the decision that was best for your wee boy at the time. Shame on the Doctor for making you feel bad. I'd put in a complaint to the practice manager - no GP should make a patient feel bad for the choices they make - lets face it how many times do Doctors get it wrong?!

Tru - glad your OH has been diagnosed early xx

Zippy - a big hug to you xxx I was worried about being out of my comfort zone when I left my old job to become a childminder. It was such a loss in income and a world away from Solicitors accounts that I'd done for 10 years!

H is working bit late tonight so I think I shall have a baked spud for tea - can't be bothered with much faff for just me.

    Have a good evening all.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
