    Morning all,

Its a long time since I posted on the daily thread, I do read most days but never have much to say.

The situation with my OH and his dizzies has not improved and he has now been referred to a different Consultant.......he only holds a clinic once a month so we have had to wait 3 months for an appointment in January. I really hope he has some answers because I am getting more than a little frustrated. Everything has to be planned around OH and as the attacks come out of the blue it makes life difficult, he has had 5 attacks in the last 7 days. The longest he went without one was when we moved, 13 days.

Christmas is sorted in this house, cards written, cheques posted to grand children.....DD1 and her husband are coming for lunch Christmas Day GDG and boyfriend are going to his, so just 4 of us.

I will be so glad when we are passed the winter solstice and the days start lengthening again....I have slight SAD not bad enough for a light box but bad enough to make me depressed.

Tomorrow we are house sitting for my friend for one night, she has to go to her mothers to see her settled back at home after she fell and broke her hip, at 100+ she is now at the stage where she needs carers. I know she will not be a good patients up till now she has always been very active.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

How lovely to see you posting csarina, believe it or not I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering how you and DH were. Sorry to hear they still haven't got to the bottom of his dizzies :( Well done on being so organised for Christmas - I'm starting to think i'm the only one on here who's not

redruby - I hope you get good news today! I remember some friends of ours once had to move on the 22nd. There they were, in a cottage in the middle of nowhere, with no carpets on the concrete floors, no curtains at the windows, but Christmas decorations up - the kids saw to that :D

Aussielass - Hope you and DGS enjoyed your paddle :D

tired mum - :hello: Don't worry, I'm not organised either, though our old sofa was taken away yesterday so there's somewhere to put the tree (and I can get at my cookbooks again :j)

Diva - Best wishes to Tris

JackieO - I love the sound of daisy! :) She must look so cute.

Penny_Pincher - Thinking of you xx

stefejb - Glad you had a lovely weekend and that Mr Beard is now your OH :j Christmas should be interesting.....

tru - Hope DH's eye is okay!

Welcome Pammy - I hope you feel a bit better this morning and that having a rant on here helped - it often does!

((((HUGS)))) to everyone who's ill or feeling down or anxious for whatever reason.

Not done a post on here for a couple of days - didn't have time on Sunday, and yesterday I was really tired after the meet - for goodness sake, all I did was sit and chat for a few hours :mad: I did do a couple of brief replies on other threads but got a bit overwhelmed with everyone's news on this one :D

Today I'll do some decluttering in the living room if I can.

Dinner is...um...not sure yet :o Might be gammon or might be fish and chips - I love chips from our chippy. Last night we had lamb casserole with thinly-sliced potatoes on top

Sorry there's not much OS in this post :o

    Hi everyone,

What a hectic weekend - DD came home for her last weekend and then we took her to Heathrow yesterday for her flight to Japan on the first leg of her 6 month trip. I managed not to cry and am not feeling as worried about her as I thought I might, I wonder if it's because I'm taking anti-depressants (for another condition, not depression).

We then popped into DS's new store (Proud mum alert) he's the youngest Lidl store manager in the country. We'd not seen it before and it's very impressive. He was surprised to see us and as we were leaving I could see a look of panic in his eyes that I might insist on kissing him in front of his staff lol.

Ironing mountain tonight and also washing. DD has left me all her hand wash items to do, wasn't that kind!!!

I have a big piece of gammon that needs cooking because I don't want to freeze it, will probably cook that and make lentil soup with the stock.

Hugs to everyone in need, especially PPin and Tris. Pink I hope your MIL is recovering. Lowesy, sorry to hear about your troubles, try not to get too down.

Morning all, can't stop long, as SIL is imminently arriving here for a coffee, she's visiting MIL. Mr Ivy is working away as usual this week so went round Sunday night.

A friend rang and left a voicemail to say she's working in the village today and would I like to meet for coffee, so that's a yes. Not seen her for ages.

Dinner of pasta bake from freezer is in the fridge defrossting. Laundry is on, eventually started the end of last week's laundry yesterday. I normally start the week's washing on a Friday night with work shirts, then get the rest done as quickly as possible.

Later...... SIL arrived! SIL has been and gone. Last of the laundry now in thank heavens. I don't normally let it pile up at all. Just shirt ironing to do.

Willl have a quick catch up on the thread and then make a shopping list.

    .

Then that's enough for a light box. Some companies you can hire before you buy. Lots of useful info at www.lumie.co.uk. There's a forum there too that is quite useful in deciding what other strategies you can use to make you feel better. I suffer quite badly at times, so start on a low dose antidepressant at the autumn equinox and tweak the dose up as I need. keep up till I feel better in the spring.

PM if you want any more info.

Hi All, Never sure how much I have to say until I start typing.

Tru & nmlc - hope husbands and dads are ok. Plus to everyone else who has sick friends/dds/ds/etc. xxx:kisses:

BB - loving your crochet work! :j

Redruby - I moved into my house 8 years ago on the 19th December. I had no heating, the house had been empty for years, i'm not even sure I had running water. My friends came round and we all sat round with duvets round an electric fire. Complete mayhem and craziness, I dind't have hot running water for weeks and had to go to my friends to wash clothes and myself. It was a nightmare at the time, but it was my house and it was done - so don't worry. If you are moving on the 22nd, it won't be the end of the world! :j

Dinner last night was leftover rice made into egg fried rice with ham and it was Scrummy. :D Also made my friend a banoffee I owed him for a loooong time, and made myself and my neighbour a mini one. Such a faff boiling the tins but worth it. It inspired me to cook rice more - as i tend not to bother really. Afetr reading rice threads onhere, i realised how I used to keep savoury rice in the fridge for 3-4 days EEK! And still ate it. It was brown rice though, i don't think that's different?

Breakfast was Crunchy nut cornflakes mmm, lunch HM wheaten ham and cheese. Dinner will be Stew my neighbour is providing me with she made on Sunday mmm. Stew. :D:j

Going to make some bread tonight, and maybe do a bit of clearing, although I keep saying that.

Have got a half day in work today - just to go shopping?! We have nothing to do so work are kindly giving us a half day. Will go into town and finish up my shopping for good. I hate shopping at the best of times, never mind now.... Mum wants me to get her partner a boring Marks fleece . I'd rather get him a TT t shirt or something bikery but she said he has enough (2 or something). Then again i can get him a biker calendar as his birthday is soon so I have to get him two presents.:j

Hookery - Last night, i sat down with my crochet hook and it took me quite a while to get used to using it! Was driving me insane. Now i have the hang of the single stitch (or chain stitch?) . Now i'm like, ok, teach me something. How do I make a square? I realised what ever stitch i was doing, was the same as the finger knit stitch my friend taught me. It looks so pretty in my rainbow wool. Just asked for wool on freecycle there so will see if I have any luck. Once up to speed, I am going to try to make something for Bonnie Babies . I read about the charity in the family forum and ever since have wanted to do something to help, so may as well get on with it. Such a good cause too. :T:A

Self indulgent ramble - Todays half day has came at a good time. I'm freaking out quite a bit about the job situation and feel really out of control of things at the moment. I don't know who to talk to about it all - after 9 years of this job, whether I hate it or not, the change is a huge shock to the system. I feel like i need a break of not feeling guilty for not job hunting . I would like to just stop worrying and do some stuff around the house - clear tidy house = clear head , right? But i don't know if that's foolish or not. I even have my excema out in my hands which I haven't had since I was 17 (now 31) so that's not good. I couldn't go to that job interview on Monday as I was so anxious. I had nightmares about job interviews all night. Sorry, didn't mean to ramble on.

Lowesy - poor thing. Wish I had a magic wand xxx

Sorry, what a bum end to my post.

Ummmmmmm Yes, so, I shall hopefully report back later and be totally done with christmas shopping :D:D:j:beer:

Zippy ((big hug)) for you. It's sometimes hard to stop worrying, I know, but something that my Dad always tells me is to stop worrying about things that are out of your control (i.e) job interviews - you are at the mercy of the person interviewing you not the other way round IYSWIM? Take a few minutes and write a list of everything that you want to achieve whether it's decluttering 3 items or finding a new & perfect job. Don't obsess about it just write it out. Then each day do one or two of the things on it and cross them out. It's hugely satisfying as you'll feel as though you've achieved something on a daily basis. You can break each task down into as many small steps as you like then too. So for job hunting you could look in the paper, the internet, register with any agencies, copy off some more CV's etc.

I don't know what line of work you're in but would it be possible to temp for a bit so that you can have some breathing space without committing to anything set in stone?

Hope this helps a little & if not please feel free to ignore me I won't be offended :rotfl:

Enjoy your shopping this afternoon xx

Thanks Sunny - I was in sales a long time, now I'm admin , so I don't really have a trade or anything.

that is good advice. I just want to forget about job stuff completely until after christmas to be honest, and have a few weeks off from worrying. But then I definitely will be unemployed for a while as I finish here the end of December offiically . The thing making me anxious is going for interviews and change . Any job I have went for and really wanted, I've not got an interview. I'm only getting interviews for rubbish low paid jobs.

I'm bursting into tears at the drop of a hat, even typing this has me blubbing. I sleep bad as it is, add this on, nightmare . I feel I need a few weeks to do exercise, clearing, and stuff i can control.

Sorry, I don't want to hijack this thread, I thought about starting one for advice but I dunno. Thanks for the kind comments. xxx
