Mobiles co uk

Hi all

I have seen on here that a lot of people have had problems with this company...
However....
I am looking at a mobile that has no 'cash-back or discounted line rental' but does come with a free Dell mini notebook.

My question is.... Is it worth taking the risk of ordering from this company, will i get the netbook or am I being a little bit naive to think that they must surely have some positive redeeming features?

thanks in advance for any help with this

If I were prepared to sacrifice a free deal for a notebook I would feel comfortable ordering from them - with one proviso; they don't always honour the deals on the website and there are definite cases where the offer isn't what you get (if you get it at all). Should you take the plunge, make sure you print out every detail of the relevant offer and understand it fully - just in case. I would also make sure that the Phones4u/Mobiles2yourDoor/Dialaphone websites don't have a comparable deal - THEY are much fairer and actually give excellent customer service, unlike this (and all other) cpw dealers. Also, should you not be happy with what you recieve don't mess around waiting for cancellation details; put it in writing immediately that you wish to cancel so that if they don't give you the necessary information to do that you will be able to prove that you requested it. Basically, they are unlikely to go bust and usually provide what you order BUT definitely cannot be trusted to do what they promise.

    Hi chas,
You will probably know whaat I'm going to say but as I said a few posts back somewhere "theres no such thing as a free lunch" ...it seems the general thoughts by those who know think it's cheaper buying the free gift and a sim only or similar but i'm no expert on the deals so will leave it to others to explain.
As far as mobiles.co.uk goes it stands to reason that there has to be customers who get the right phone at the right price at the right tariff and nothing goes wrong...so it depends how lucky you feel you are and whether its worth the risk ???????
The only thing they seem good at is offering a cheap deal ...the cost you pay is that everything else is sacrificed in order to do that ie there is no customer service etc.
EG if you buy from them in order to save 10 or 20 quid over 24 months is it realy worth the risk rather than buying from a reputable dealer such as mobiles2yourdoor etc etc ???
I know what I would do :rotfl:
It's not just about the money

In my opinion you should be fine, the only thing is that you wont get the phone "next day" and you'll have to wait for the free gift.
It's probably better doing it your way than what I did (where you dont have to rely on them for cash back etc)

I would say go for it, if you're happy with the monthly cost/package .... it looks straight forward . . . only thing is that you'll have to wait but it should work out fine.

If it doesnt just come back here ;)

    Anyone else ?

Dialaphone is now part of Phones4u (which is why I recommended them).

Just to echo what the others have said - make sure you check exactly what the tariff they're offering is, their adverts can be confusing (I sound like a scratched record!)
  • I got free Sony Vaio from mobiles.co.uk earlier this year. Phone and laptop arrived promptly and I am very happy with both up to now.
