Getting ours delivered on thursday! May try to lay it at the weekend, but DH is away and it doesn't really seem a good idea to be working up in the loft in an empty house... Our loft is boarded, so I'm just going to be laying it over the boards so hopefully it will be an easy job, although I know we aren't quite getting the maximum use out of it doing it this way really.
Like you Jack, just hope we see the difference afterwards; although it'll be difficult, we've only been in the hosue a month or so so nothing to compare it to! Oh well for £10...0 -
Mine arrived on Monday morning. They rang me last Friday to arrange delivery and I told them I only needed half of the quantity (see my earlier post below). I tried ringing before but got no answer. When it arrived there was 21 rolls instead of 13. I originally ordered 26 by mistake and aasked them to halve it. I don't know why they delivered 21??? The chap said he couldn't take the excess back to the depot. Somehow I managed to fit it all in the shed ready to be installed at the weekend. No romance for me on the 14th!!
I was the #19 post. I have 42 square meters of loft to insulate. Thank you for bringing it to my attention that I have possibly got too much. It seems like the calculator on the website has doubled my order! Or was it me? Anyway, I used the formula posted by THe Grim Reaper (post#63) and I should have 8 x 100mm and 14 x 1700mm rolls and not the following as my order suggests:-
DIY100 DIY ROCKROLL 4.8MX1200X100MM
16.00 @ £0.87
Line Total: £13.92
DIY170 DIY ROCKWOOL ROLL 2.8MTR X 1200MM X170MM
26.00 @ £0.87
Line Total: £22.62
Carriage and Packing: £0
Total value, including carriage and packing, excluding VAT : £36.54
VAT : £5.48
Total value including carriage and packing and VAT : £42.02
Not really sure what to do, but before I ring them could someone else do the math to make sure I have the right quantity please? Maths was never my strong point!0 -
If you have got too much, someone else on here will buy the excess from you.

Thanks to the originator for this tip. Currently unemployed and with no income so very grateful for something which really helps and saves money.
I tried the website and the national number but like others found them unavailable. Tried the number for the nearest in Hertfordshire but it had closed. Tried the next nearest which was also closed but a recorded message gave the number for Highgate in London. Ordered ten rolls of insulation and confirmed it would be delivered in January - they insisted on taking a phone number to arrange delivery.
Nothing happened - although the money had been taken from my credit card - so I wrote to the depot - no reply.
18 February - I am at home with excruciating backache and unable to get downstairs quickly to answer the door. No-one there.
Returning from a slow and painful trip to the paper shop later I noticed a piece of my fence lying on the pavement (I've suffered a great deal from vandalism and one fence panel is badly damaged). I went to look and there in the back garden - pushed through the damaged panel and over the fence - were nine rolls of insulation!
I spent a very painful and tearful morning trying to drag them away from the edge of the garden. No tenth roll and no safety kit.
I've written again to complain . . . why on earth didn't they ring to arrange delivery? What on earth made them think this was an appropriate way to deliver? The rolls were not only wet but dirty - several were smeared with dog dirt. I know that beggars can't be choosers but this was a very miserable experience.
OK, rant over. I hope other moneysavers fared better!Smile. You'll feel better, and other people will wonder why . . .0 -
