  • I recall a program sometime ago that was giving advice on how to set up a wireless camera on wifi that would then record images to your website (or a new one that you have created for it) and would also send a message if any movement was detected

Can anyone else remember this, and did anyone actually do it - if so, how have you found it?

I reckon it would be the cheapest and easiest system to use, and would also give images of any burglar if required for arrests / convictions

    thoughts welcomed

    thanks

Has anyone tested changing it to their mobile number then setting it off?!?!

What about if I don't have a phone line, can I just use it as a stand alone alarm?

Anyone, been able to test the above to another landline or mobile number other than the one configured with it?

OK, I just tested this for you guys, I put it in silent mode (protect my ear drums) changed the number to my mobile and set it off. It worked a treat dialled me right away.

PS, also add the line was silent, I was expecting lots of computer noise down the line (ahhh the days of the ZX81), but there was nothing so it was probably waiting for a handshake.

Can you switch off the alarm remotely too? Say for instance if you are texted that its going off?
Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

I read somewhere that it may interfere with an ADSL connection. Can anyone confirm this. I only have one BT line which takes my ADSL and phone, will I also be able to plug the alarm into it without it affecting my broadband?

It comes with a socket doubler and wont affect your broadband.

I have just taken delivery of my system and I'm about to set it up. I don't really want to register it and pay £5 a month for 9 months after the 3 month trial, I intend to modify the number it dials to my mobile. However as part of the set up it looks like it requires a Property ID number which you get from registering, is there any way round this?
