Got mine too. If you llok at the back of the box it stipulates that systems boughts after 2003 only come with 3 months monitoring. ,,probably explains why box price has been reduced (not 12 months unfortunately as mentioned in manual)
ps Can you still get alerts if you don't sign up to monitoring service?
no, the alerts come via the monitoring centreEx forum ambassador

Dose not seems to have an outside siren or box which normally would be more effective in deterring thief. If buy separated box, it costs as much as the system itself. Anybody please confirm if it has a box/siren included?

Some people will say putting up a box will just tell people you have something worth pinching.
Also if a theif knows you have an alarm they could also break in to avoid setting it off, ie they will expect the doors have contacts on they so might choose to use a window or enter through an upstairs window knowing a lot of people only cover donstairs.
On the flip side an opertunist could do a lot of damage before setting it off and might have otherwise walked by having seen a box.

What's the good of a burglar alarm that rings you to tell you you've been burgled? By the time you can do anything about it, the damage has been done.
As to alarm boxes, well I guess it depends where you are - if you are the only house in the street which has one, or the only house which doesn't, then I guess you are more at risk. I really don't think you can generalise to say you are more likely to be burgled if you don't have one. Good old locks and other low-tech measures are much more important than fitting alarms.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0
