im curious as to why the ex is still listed on the rent, and council tax. surely if he's not living there, its about time to remove his name from the important documents.

before you continue to shout the odds, you need to get your house in order. and ensure you ex is in contact with his children. but do it nicely. its a lot easyier for both of you.

MY house IS in order!!!! he is still on the rent because our authority say u have togo to court to have him removed!!!! he wont goto court

    hence why i am moving!!!!!

he can see his child.... in a contact centre, she hasnt seen him in 18mths so a contact centre 1st, and also due to threats of him taking her!!!! his mum offered me £5000 for her!!

im sorry, but your house isn't in order if you are in danger of being evicted. and you certainly don't have to go to court to remove his name from the council tax, or is it that you want him to be financially liable for the bill?

From Shelter and way off topic :D
I'm a joint tenant or owner

If you are a joint tenant or owner, you both have the right to stay in the home unless one person has been excluded using an occupation order. If you can't decide who is going to stay, an occupation order may be your only option to force your partner out of the home.
If you are at risk of violence or abuse in your home then the council should provide you with alternative accommodation.
If you are a joint tenant living in a council or housing association home, and either you or your partner gives notice to end the tenancy by giving four weeks' notice, the tenancy will be brought to an end. The council will then need to look into whether the property will be under or over-occupied for whoever wants to stay. The tenancy will then usually be re-offered to the person staying, if the accommodation is suitable for them. If the council believes the person staying is under-occupying - ie the property is too big for them - they will usually be made to leave.
If the parent with children leaves, the tenancy still has to be ended. The parent with children will usually be offered other accommodation.
