    Good morning guys,

looks like Santa's brakes are working fine :rotfl::rotfl:

    doeraindeer.jpg

Another unexpected day off, School phoned yesterday and asked me to pick LO up as he had diorrhea. He's well in himself except for tummy cramps but he's still runny today so he's off. Just as well really as I have started with a head cold.

The bedrooms are clean and a wash is on, later I am going to foray in to the attic and pull out the xmas stuff. Our old 7ft tree has been donated to work and will be collected on Friday along with the lights and some of the baubles. We tested the new one and it is absolutely gorgeous, the lighting effect of the fibre optics is really stunning. I can't wait to get it up myself now. :D

Lunch will be baked pots for me and LO will have some toast and tea for us all will be fridge surprise with some wedges I think. There is lots of bits in there that need using up.

Msd - Sorry to hear about Tris, a large virtual hug and prayer to him and his family. xx

Gentle hugs to all in need today and I hope all the 'poorlies' feel better soon. xx

Pen-pin - thinking of you too, look after yourself hun. xx

    Smoky. xxx

Hi folks - missed you all lately, but not been feeling too smart, in fact really down, and not sure what's at the bottom of it. I have this huge feeling that I have loads of things to do but not able to get cracking on anything.
Not too much OS going on here although we are trying to live off all that's in the freezer - every meal is a huge surprise, depending on what I can pull out.
Need to finish DS's scarf as he's coming up rather earlier than I realised before we all fly out to Germany on 23rd to stay with his partner's folks for Christmas.
i ought to be exchanging pressies with my sisters in Wales this w/e (and no, I haven't got them all sorted yet!) I'm so disorganised.
Sorry to hear about Tris MSD - thoughts and prayers for you here.
Not really caught up with everyone else, so sending good wishes generally.

    Hi peeps

warm and raining here this morning but hopefully we shall see some of the bright winter sun later to cheer everything up.

DH walked the monsters before he left the house this morning so i managed to stay dry, it will be my turn later when i get home. I need to pop out for a sack of dog food later and i must remember to pick up some dust sheets too.

Donny gal - The kitchen is still a bit of a mare atm, thanks for asking though :D
There is a guy calling around later to do some odds and ends and then tomorrow DH and i both have the day off. We shall be spending the day finishing the last wall in readiness for the plasterer next week.

The previous owners had tiled over layers of wallpaper on two of the walls which has really taken some shifting. My new cooker should arrive tomorrow but it will have to stand at the back of the living room for the time being as there is no room in its allocated spot just yet. I`ve yet to contact the gas man to install it. I`m really pleased with the cooker as it was a real bargain.

I think that your DH is similar to mine in that i put together our tv stand and wired everything up myself :rotfl: the tuning was a breeze and i really needed to lounge on the sofa for a while as all that bending down didn`t do me any good at all :rotfl:

Smokybabe - Hope that the LO is better soon!

Have a good day everyone and i shall pop back later to catch up.
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

    Morning everyone.

Wet and vile here. DS is bouncing off the walls which is a sure sign he's feeling better. Me and H are off to his school this afternoon to watch the reception and nursery Christmas play. He's a lamb in it (or as he says a sheep!) and announced to me yesterday that they'd found the baby Jesus :rotfl: Can I have lots of vibes to make sure he doesn't spend the whole production picking his nose and eating it like he normally does  :o
Off out to get some Xmas pressies from ELC today. Got a 20% voucher which will be very handy :D Won't get a lot done this afternoon with the production so very little OS going on.
WM is on, about 3 loads at least to get through as I changed the bathroom towels and stripped our bed.

Tru - I am LOVING the Christmas songs. I am definately feeling festive after [STRIKE]singing[/STRIKE] reading that ;) I am also enjoying the wonders of Movies 24 - honestly the films are so dire you just HAVE to watch them :rotfl:

Diva - Was thinking about Tris in the wee small hours wondering how he was doing. Still sending lots of vibes his way (and for you too) xxx

jc - I am still (but not for much longer) still the right side of 35 and I can't wait for Santa to come either hyper.gif

The kids were bought chocolate advent calenders but we also have a wooden one which I LOVE. its a picture of Santa and and an elf putting presents round a christmas tree. Each door around the outside has a small wooden ornament to hang on the tree/surrounding picture. So far we've had a small sleigh and present, a Xmas tree sitting on a present and today an angel holding some cymbals :D

Have a good day OS or not. Hugs to those that need them.

Good morning (again- I did post rather late last night!). I had a good sleep and am very happy to be at home, rather than sitting in traffic this morning in the nasty weather. Went down a few minutes ago to get some milk and a cup to make some tea upstairs, forgot to bring it last night. So now in bed with the laptop. I need to get up in a bit and go and crack on with the paying sewing for a bit before I go into work.

See if you think my birthday list looks OK.
    • Straight sided trifle bowl. The one I got for my 40th sprung a crack.
    • Nested set of pastry cutters, crinkle ones, I only have plain.
    • YSL Parisienne, new perfume out that I think might be OK.
    • [STRIKE]
    • Claire Schaefer Couture Techniques book [/STRIKE] GOt this 30% off at our closing down Borders yesterday
    • One of those electrical multimeter things, a little unsophisticated one. Then I can test my own batteries.
    • A Bar stool, couldn't afford one when we did the kitchen, then I can sit down to peel veg etc.
    • Blades pack for my rotary cutter. Doesn't sound much, but a 10 pack is about £25.
    • Set of coloured pens for my whiteboard.
    • Pale pink Anthurium
    • White Poinsettia.
As I said, nipped into Borders. Disappointed to find only 20% off cookbooks, the one I wanted had gone. Why not 50% like gardening? Craft was 30%. Nothing off calendars newspapers and periodicals and Paperchase (or Starbucks!- took one with me on the way to Harrogate!)
I think there are some things that I have forgotten.

I have to sew today, so not sure how much will get done. No housework to speak of this week, which is a shame as I was doing so well over the last few weeks. When I start sewing I drop everything else. I'll try and finish my seat covers by the end of the weekend.

OS? Going to have last helping of risotto for my lunch today. DS has trombone lesson after school and his teacher is going on from her to perform at The Lowry, so thought I would make them both pizza. His teacher always arrives to good smells but with nothing ready to eat, so thought he would like this idea, as he may not get a meal otherwise. I shall have a couple of stray fishcakes from the freezer or eggs on toast.

Delia to be on woman's hour shortly. might listen now or later. Still have the tv to watch on IPlayer. Better get on now I suppose. Just have a couple more threads to look at.

DH's objection to this being on the list was that he didn't think he (or anyone other than me) could be trusted to get the right thing. FOr goodness sake, all I want is a cheap set of cutters. It' snot difficult, is it?

When my DS3 was in his reception class nativity play, as Joseph, he sat on the stage, bang in the centre, lifting up his tunic & wafting it around so that the entire audience got a lovely view of his bright yellow Bob the Builder wunderpants (as he used to call them) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Everyone was intrigued by 'Joseph's' dress code & were unaware that this was how he dressed ;):D
