Crafty Kirstie Allsopp returns for a three-part special in which she creates the perfect homemade Christmas.
Earlier in 2009, Kirstie turned her dilapidated Devon cottage, Meadow Gate, from a shell to a chic vision of country living. Kirstie sets up base camp in her cottage to take viewers on a yuletide journey of inspired decoration, wonderful gifts and perfect entertaining.
Packed with tips and information, the series is a goldmine of creative ideas that viewers can replicate at home. In each programme Kirstie takes on a theme and offers viewers the perfect guide to transforming any home into a Christmas spectacle, from Christmas decorations and handmade and homemade presents, to entertaining with plenty of food, drink and general merriment.
Plus Kirstie again visits local craftspeople and markets to try new crafts, creating her very own decorations, from blowing glass baubles to making wreaths, gingerbread men, stockings and candles.

Definitely going to watch it, but the previous similar programme she did...'Kirsty's home-made home' didn't really do what it said on the tin in my opinion! Visiting local glass blowers for homeblown glass tumblers or professional soft furnishings experts won't be within the budget of most people, niether is a second home in Devon or wherever it was.....I'm hoping we one day might get a fantastic programme showing us how to make lovely things for presents & our homes from recycled, free, found, or very affordable stuff. It would be so useful during the current recession. I know Kirsty's personal wealth will get in the way of the ethos of 'Home-made Christmas' for me, but having said that, I shall still be watching it! I want to make a swag from freshly cut greenery next week, so am hoping there may be some hints on how to put one of those together.....if not, it'll be me, a roll of wire, pliers and a stash of hedgerow treasures out on the patio until I come up with something I like!2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -
ooh thanks, I will be watching this0

Cheers! I'll be watching but half hope I don't get too many ideas on things to make as I have a hundred and one things to do already!0
