Funny you should ask about that demo lipstick - I'm wanting to order one of each colour, and I assume from how its worded in HT about stocking up to show your customer, that yes you can order ONE of EACH colour, would be a bit daft otherwise telling us to stock up, but who knows with avon lol!

Hi, I'm thinking of becoming an Avon Rep as I need to bring in some extra income but I need to be flexible around my children (19 months and newborn) - going back to work would be pretty much pointless as I'd probably end up paying more in nursery fees than I earn!
Is there a way of finding out how many other Avon Reps there are in my area? I tried Usborne Books after having my first child and soon after found that my local area is absolutely saturated with Usborne Reps so it was very very difficult to achieve anything with it apart from a load of stock that I can't get rid of.
Also, what is a realistic income that I could expect from doing this?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Its very hard to say what a realistic income is from avon - as you've probably seen from the signatures on here, we all sell a different amount, it varies depending upon the area you live, whether you have friends/family etc who will order from you, and of course how much effort you put in.

There isn't a way of finding out how many reps are in your area - but it is very unusual for there not to be some "territory" available in the nearby area - by this I mean streets that can be allocated to you to deliver brochure to.. You don't have to have territory, but it does help get more sales. And of course, show brochures to absolutely everyone you know, and even do parties as well (say at Mums & babies groups etc as well could be a good place).....

The good thing about avon is that there are no upfront costs - so you can give it a go, and if you decide it isn't for you, then you won't owe anything, you only start to pay the admin fee(or 2 lots of £7.50, so £15 in total) once you submit orders. But for this admin fee you get brochures provided for the first 2 campaigns.

The earning levels are usually £78 of sales and above to get 20%

If you get above £148 of sales then you get 25%...

Though brochures, samples etc all count towards this figure as well - it might seem like a lot to sell before you start to earn, but it isn't in reality, as on average people usually spend around £10 each so it isn't many customers to find - and the good thing is that you don't have to keep any stock in, as you order it from avon as you need it.

And of course in time you could also become a SL to increase your income further (though be warned its not that easy - you get a lot of people mess you around:mad:)

I'd say give it a go as you have nothing to lose, though it might be best to wait until January now - but only because in some areas the order/delivery dates are ridiculous, like getting a delivery on the 23rd December!!!

    Hi!

I just got an email saying i had achieved Level 2 in the sales incentive thing! (im easily pleased :))

And a quick question to you cleaver people...

If i want to buy some demo products (the new Mega Impact lipstick) can i only buy one or one of each colour?

    Kirsty x

Yes, demos are 1 of each colour/size/fragrance although you can usually get away with a second by doing it as a back order in the following campaign(under the earlier campaign no. On the drop-down)

i think its anything up to a week but if your next campaign is close they may send it with that. ie my last one was delivered on the 30th, next one delivered 12th so the chances are they will send it with that x

I give up with territory. I have streets with 50-60 houses and get 1 order, but most often I get no orders. One of my streets someone else is already doing it... and I finally went to my final street I was given, and I was hopeful as it was a more newer estate.
I went to collect my books and a few people answered and said 'Oh you're not Claire are you? I order from her. Here's yours...'
So I started doing a couple of streets I wasn't given seeing as mine had been stolen but still no orders. Seems strange reading everyone else's posts when they have streets and get at least xx number of doors ordering and I'm lucky to have 1. Can't see me continuing Avon for much longer really.

If you requested an immediate replacement it will be sent out using royal mail and should take anywhere between 5-10 days....if you just requested a replacement then it will come with your next delivery.

Unfortunately you need to wait until you have been recharged for "Missing" products before contacting avon (I've had it happen a couple of times)....if they do recharge you - just email them explaing it was sent back on x date, and give them the barcode number - they will then recredit it to your account.

I think they happily accept that some items are returned but just aren't processed as I've never had any problem so long as the barcode number is handy.
