Yes there are loads of SL about lol - avon just don't advertise that fact as they want reps to join with them directly as then they earn more money - as if a SL signs them up, obviously avon loose a portion of that reps sales to the SL.

You'd be best leaving your returns with whoever the first point of contact will be for the delivery driver - and hopefully then they will take it back, if not perhaps you could set your delivery address to be somewhere else? For example - if I'm out my delivery is left in my shed.....my MIL didn't want her delivery coming to her own house (don't ask!!!) so it also comes to my house, is there perhaps someone local where you could have it delivered to? If I'm out, I just leave my returns in the shed and the driver takes it away with him when he brings my stuff.
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

I give up with territory. I have streets with 50-60 houses and get 1 order, but most often I get no orders. One of my streets someone else is already doing it... and I finally went to my final street I was given, and I was hopeful as it was a more newer estate.
I went to collect my books and a few people answered and said 'Oh you're not Claire are you? I order from her. Here's yours...'
So I started doing a couple of streets I wasn't given seeing as mine had been stolen but still no orders. Seems strange reading everyone else's posts when they have streets and get at least xx number of doors ordering and I'm lucky to have 1. Can't see me continuing Avon for much longer really.

    Hi

I was recently given several streets and like you people said they had a rep already. In my case there were 3 other reps doing the streets. I was so mad about it as I bought extra books and tried 3 drops. I have now given it back so no doubt some other poor rep will be given it and go through the same thing. :o

Please don't take offence but you really shouldn't drop on someone else's territory. I just had someone do that to me and it was horrible, we ended up rowing in the street. I lost several good customers through it as she lived on their street and they didn't want to upset her.
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

If you requested an immediate replacement it will be sent out using royal mail and should take anywhere between 5-10 days....if you just requested a replacement then it will come with your next delivery.

how do you request an immediate replacement online? also where do you put additional delivery instructions etc when pplacing your order?

my OH has just been out collecting his books..he has 3 orders totalling about 50 quid...and that was only one side of the street...he has one guy asking for an extra book for a friend...he has a lady who had ordered something froma rep recently who dropped a book but never picked it up and he said to the lady he can order it from her and that if teh other rep comes back to explain that he has the order and that if that rep has any problems to call me..as that is officially his territory :)
from what i can gather he has been having some good old chats lol..hes good at this avon lark clearly :)
im tempted this campaign to just deliver to the people who ordered this time and do the others just on campaign 2...not sure tho :(

    Hi

Considering the only 3 customers I have aren't on my territory I'm afraid I'm on of the ones who goes elsewhere. Only because people had taken MY streets. If I hadn't done it I wouldn't have anything at all, and my SL just keeps getting more territory for me... and it's all taken. I'll have made nothing if I hadn't taken this into my own hands, and that's a sad fact. If one person goes outside their allocated streets... they start ruining it for everyone because everyone has to do the same in the end. :o
  • you want to get onto you ASM they have access to territory...plus they can deal with the people who are dropping on your streets thats what they are there for...mine is fabulous..she gets onto things straight away :)

i had someone drop on my street and declared that seeing as 2 people had ordered she WILL be delivering their orders and that she would then give them the choice of who to deal with...she even admitted that she hadnt been given that territory...it is bad practice...having set territory is what sets avon aprt from the other catalogue delivery out there..where it is a free for all...but it will only continue to work if people stick to their own....even tho she took my customers i gave up that street and got a new one...there are plenty out there...you may well have just taken someone elses customers :)

I agree. I have never had a problem with teritory for me or any of my reps but I know that you need to report back and get it sorted because that is the point of Avon. Avon gives you teriotry so you have your own patch.
I think if you have just gone on to a road you need to check with ur ASM just to see if the road is free.
If I see a road that I don't think is being done I will speak to my ASM to check before dropping any books.

Posted about this on the earlier thread..... have just learned that there are 50 reps in my area! So far have 'come across' two others; first one wanted a row but I wouldn't be drawn; second one was really nice and we now support each other i.e. she's picked up my books and passed on any orders and I've done the same for her.

Problem re. territory is that you have no way of knowing if potential new customers are located within another rep's given territory. I'm 'guilty' of having 'encroached' but having said that I started doing Betterware recently (thinking that the two would dovetail....) and actually came across another rep's book on a doorstep, soggy/wet/total rubbish. Being nosey, I looked inside the 'mess' and found an order dated August! (Can't understand why the householder left it on their doorstep for so long but hey... no accounting for some people....) Naturally, I took the initiative, dropped in a current book and now have a new customer, who presumably was not looked after sufficiently by the rep allocated with that territory. (Equally, another customer, who tried paying me for someone else's order was 'dropped' and has actually been the highest orderer in my last two campaigns.) :j

Could be wrong but seems to me that everyone likes to be 'looked after' and the better they feel looked after then the better you'll do.

  • Following on from Elliebee's earlier post (and mine), in my December campaign I included a little Christmas card (30 for 99p from Lidl) with a little note of thanks for orders in 2009 together with a Bailey's Irish Cream truffle or a Bendicks mint (both individually wrapped and on offer in Somerfield ;)). Usually I put either a fragrance or other Avon sample in with all orders but got to say that sometimes the Avon samples are still in the bags with the books when I collect them again but none of the chocolates came back! One lady even included a handwritten 'thank you' note with her next order! How sweet is that?

I also do get the impression - right or wrong - that the more you help your customers, the more they want to give you some custom. Pretty sure some of my customers actually go out of their way to order something just to 'help' me.... (I do tend to 'tweek' orders if they miss offers - and make sure they know! ;))

  • Hi I'm a new avon rep. Is anyone anticipating a decline in avon orders after Christmas? I don't know what to think as there are some good offers in brochure 2. Also everyone seems to have good figures for there previous campaigns - all help on how to get my figures up would be much appreciated! I find it a bit disheartening :(

    Thanks

Am also still new to this and have experienced a decline in my pre-Christmas order. Pretty sure that orders will decline further until, maybe, Spring. No idea of the thoughts behind increased campaigns in January i.e. when people naturally cut back to pay for Christmas, but time will tell I guess.

As for how to get your figures up, I aim to try and get two new customers in every campaign. 'Every little helps' and all that. Strange sometimes where orders come from. (I picked up £50 worth of orders this week from Betterware customers - their books are free; bit of a hard slog but has proved useful.)

Places worth trying are sheltered housing/retired people's developments. Sometimes they reckon they're past it but get chatting to them about the offers on hand creams, shower gels etc. and if you can get them to consider you a friend rather than a sales person and you're home and dry.
