I did really well for campaign 3, I have about £150 orders so far a few more to collect before end of day, so should exceed the HOV for my 3rd campaign which I am really pleased about. I put some 'free gifts' in with the brochure, a Mega Impact lipstick sample, an Ideal Shade Foundation sample and an Anew sample tied in cellophane with a curled ribbon around it; saw this idea somewhere on here, and it really worked! I got 4 orders for Mega Impact lipsticks (which are fab by the way), SIX orders for Anew (because of the Buy 1 Choose 1 for £5 coupled with the sample), and 1 for the Ideal Shade Foundation which was half price...
Plus on those Mega Impact lipsticks dont we get commission on the full £8 sales price, rather than the £4 brochure price? So that's £8 commission I've made just for 4 lippys :P
Going to do the same for C4 toox
Fab idea Katy, must remember to do that myself, thankyou for sharing.0 -
Do you have to be within a certain travelling distance of the new agents you recruit? Am told there are 50 Avon reps in my town (approx. 3,000 houses) so we sometimes 'fall over' one another! :rotfl: Realise you have to sign people up but presumably you could do that via the post? Getting the free catalogues to them could be a problem but just wondered if anyone else is a SL with 'remote' reps and/or what is the average distance considered 'acceptable'/workable?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon

I must say this about ASM's. They are in high pressured jobs - they have to sign up 2 reps a day to meet their target quota, and they have other targets they have to ensure their team meet.
I'm not saying it is right but it does explain why some of us find it so hard to communicate with our SLs. I had trouble getting hold of my ASM and my SL emailed her and then spoke to her and now she is fine with me. But saying that haven't had any leads from her since I said I couldn't do the last one.
You can imagine how big an ASM's team is and they probably don't prioritise us once they have signed us and shown us the basics.
However, if you email and ask to meet to discuss communications and she doesn't reply, you can go to her DSM and ask her to contact her regarding communications issues.
I have been trying to get in touch with her for 3 weeks now, aside from going to her house, I don't really know what else to do. How would I get in touch with her DSM.
I have no doubt about the scale of what she does, or the targets and pressure she is under - however, I do know that if I was doing that job and I am in a supervisory position at work, I would not guarantee that I come back to 100% of emails within 24 hours and I would certainly not give the 'sign up' a feeling of comfort and support / false expectations. I would be very frank and say, once I go that's it, I wont be able to help you, I am very busy, however, these are your options.
I stumbled across this forum and text my ASM to tell her straight away - she said she wasnt sure it was to be relied upon. If it was me I would have a 'help' fact sheet for my sign ups, so that they didnt need to feel frustrated - and I would make sure I told that person about every avenue open to them for help and support. I might even have a monthly meeting and invite my area - for a Q+A in a church hall or something.
Rant over, just wish the call centre was a little easier to speak to as then I wouldnt be on here or bothering my ASM at all. :mad:0 -
Hey everyone. Really can't be bothered this campaign, feeling the stresses of work (both jobs) and getting everything for Christmas, parties etc etc.
I know it's the last one and then I am missing out a camp then when I come back I am only going to do people that have ordered before for a while. I just want my evenings back. Have 2 jobs so not getting much time to myself any more.
Was meant to deliver a load tonight, done half, which means I now have to change the collection date on all the cats I've prepared. I need some time out!!
Hiya,
I know how you feel. I only have 1 full time job. With this 2 week I feel like i'm busting a gut for nothing! I've got £32 in orders and have to place my order by friday. I haven't even delivered all of the orders from the last one!! I only have a enough time to put 1 more lot of books out. Feel like i'm doing a lot of hard work for nothing. I think I'm going to miss the next one out. I want some time over xmas to myself. Plus if I don't make any money I don't want to shell out for 40 cats like I normally do and make nothing! StressedC14 £129, C15 £126 , C16 £442:T, C17 £290, C18 £215, C1 £1200 -
Do you know Lozza, I know its 8 campaigns, my SL told me when I asked about someone else who had asked the same question, why I wrote 2? No idea! Having a bad day.
But thank you for making sure the right information has been posted on here.
Lol its alright - I figured you probably meant to put 8 - we all have those kinds of days sometimesAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

No you cannot do a sign up via the post - it has to be done face to face, as you need to check ID as well as show them how to do things, and obviously you both need to sign the contract as well. You can get kicked out of avon for signing up via the phone/post. Once the initial sign up is done, then yes any futher communication can be done via email/phone etc, but it is best to see people in person to show them how to order online, it helps to make sure they are happy with what they are doing and to go over any problems/concerns they have. At the end of the day - as a SL you are meant to be there to help your reps if they get stuck, to the best of your ability. Would you have like to be signed up by the post, never see the person, and wonder if you will be able to get in contact with them? Probably not. Seeing them in person builds a good relationship - at least if you are a good SL, from peoples posts on here there are a lot of "bad" SL around!
As for how far you can travel - it is completely up to you! You can sign up people anywhere in the UK, though most people tend to stick to a certain distance from their home, unless they do it full time as there only job and don't have family commitments. As I drive, and work 40 miles away from where I live, I do cover a bigger area as I can try and get reps close to home, but also close to work. It is up to you, though obviously if you stick very close to home it will be difficult to get many people signed up, especially if there are a lot already.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Thanks, lozza, yes I'd forgotten about checking ID etc. Still early days for me yet (am deffo not an impulsive type! LOL) Was actually thinking of recruiting 'friends and family' (some of whom live at the other end of the country) i.e. working on the principle that I know them and can trust them.... Back to the drawing board, I guess.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon

Well - when you visit them you could sign them up perhaps? Though to earn anything from your team, you need to have 5 reps placing an order, and you the orders altogether need to total a certain amount, so only worth signing friends/family only if you have a lot of them to sign up, otherwise you wouldn't earn anything anyway. As I say - only the initial sign up needs to be done face to face due to the paperwork, after that it can be over the phone/by email.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Anyone know what a good alternative to Alternative to Brown Sugar Glazewear Lipstick would be?I have a rep with a customer who really likes it, but it appears to be discontinued now...I've checked on the avon website and can't find any suggestions for an alternative. I'd be grateful for any suggestions - I figure it must be a brown shade lol but I don't have anything with any indication of the shade to be able to match it up!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
