Avon Hints and Tips (Part 3)

No, your upline is taking the !!!!. They have to provide books for ALL reps you sign up within your first 2 campaigns a sl, whether than is 1 person, or 100! Your upliner is an asm isn't it? I had problems getting books & packs from mine, ended up complaining to the dsm (the asms boss) which got me the rest of the books I needed. She only went to one T1 with me, no follow up appointments, had to work out everything myself & with help from people on flissys. If I was you - I'd post on flissys and ask if anyone knows who the dsm is for your area, so that you can email the dsm and explain the situation. You shouldn't have had to give out your own brochures!!!!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Thanks lozza, Yes shes an ASM, hmm i think ill have a word with her first. I wanted to check on here that im right before bringing out the not-so-patient SL in me lol.
She HAS helped in the sense that shes explained alot and been prospecting with me which is suppose she didnt have to do. the horrible thing is i thought she was getting to know me and helping me for the sake of helping if you know what i mean but i guess shes after her own interests after all. duh! lol Im never going to do that to my reps!
I mean yes if youve got a rep whos messing you about theres only so much you can do for them before marking them as a lost cause, but the ones who really try and give it a go shouldnt just be dropped when the upline gets the commission they need from them!
watch its proably cause its the weekend, she'll turn up with a lorry load of books on tuesday lolcamp 12=£443 13=£425 14=£277 15=£474 16=£492 17=£438 18=£437 1=£319 2=£153:o 3=£220 :jSALES LEADER:j4=£202 5=£191 6=£167 7=£193 8=£216 9=£211

OOH, just to add...i dropped off some flyers into a charity shop yesterday (after my local pub AND shop said no!!) anyway, they asked for a small donation in exchange for letting me leave flyers. Fair enough.
Had a text this morning from a lady wanting to start asap!

Hey sophisoph, your ASM is supposed to go prospecting with you, that is part of their job or "Swooping", which is what I have done once with mine. I was ill the second time I was supposed to be meeting her.
I asked in my local charity shops if I could leave them an Avon book and think they misunderstood and said no, meaning they thought I wanted to leave Books for customers to pick up.
But I do like the idea of a small donation for leaving flyers and I donated gift baskets last year, not with Avon goods, but No 7 and other glitches from Boots thread.
Thanks for the idea, might try them again with a sweetener.0 -
At the end of the day, if an ASM signs up a new Rep, they are going to try and sign them into the current campaign, even if there is only 2 days to go, because they have targets to meet, and that one Rep could qualify them for their target.
Just because they do it doesn't actually mean it's fair though..... Putting a new rep under such pressure could put them off continuing and also mean that the rep misses out hitting their own target re. free samples, etc. because they haven't enough time to hit MOV/HOV?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Hi everyone,
I have signed up as a rep for my local area and cannot thank everyone enough for sharing your hints, tips and also frustrations on this and previous threads! I am working my way through the hints and tips Part 2 thread and have a long way to go but wanted to share my thanks with you all.
I was previously very very nervous about putting books through my neighbours doors as I have recently moved areas and talked myself into doing it about 7pm one night when it was dark and I am SO pleased I did as I received over £100 in orders and got chatting to people I hadnt had the chance to meet.
Popped my books out for the last time tonight (Camp 5) and I have 5 days left to place my order but AGAIN, thanks to you chaps, I have managed to do this by myself after following instructions from previous posts. I will collect my books in on Wed and then place my order then too.
Thanks everyone!

asms don't care though - because they have targets they just want to sign reps into the current campaign even if there is only a couple of days left. Had a disagreement once with an asm over this - I signed a rep into a campaign, there was only 5 days left so signed her into the next campaign to give her plenty of time - asm emailed asking why she wasn't in the current campaign as it was my job to keep reps motivated. Erm yes I keep them motivated by giving them enough time to get orders, don't have targets to hit like they do!!!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

See we're singing from the same hymn sheet although, of course, we all have our own set of targets to meet..... just not as big as our ASMs am guessing!Well done you for protecting your rep! :T
After all, protecting our reps helps us..... how do we benefit by helping our ASMs? :cool:Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Well done you, Sugarhoney.... I did exactly the same. Took me ages but picked up sooooo many tips from reading the past threads that it was well worth the effort.
Strangely enough I realised recently that whilst we all think 'given territory' is our route to success, I've just completed my 10th campaign and was surprised to find that from the 70 houses on my given territory I only got 3 orders (one of those was for 99p! ) My F&F (on my back campaign) now far outnumber those in my GT so have started to move some forward..... Failed miserably on my first attempt though as a new rep had dropped a back campaign book into one of my customers and they spotted that the bargains in the back campaign were better than the ones in their current one....
Did get a bit of a boost this campaign though as someone re-ordered 6 items they ordered in my first ever campaign - at that time they ordered 4 for £14 but I went back to them and pointed out they could order 5 for £5 My 'good deed' obviously has stuck because try as I may I couldn't find their goodies any cheaper for them this time and when I told them they said something of the order that they didn't particularly bother about searching for a bargain because they knew I'd do it for them..... Ahh... bless! :jMake the most of everything in life (especially Avon)
