I've got to canvas a very large street. But would you put out latest brochures or back issues? I don't want to buy up loads of new books if I don't have to and would prefer to do it in one or two sweeps if possible.

I would use your old books, it wont matter so much if you lose some along the way
Me again! Just wondered how you judge how much float to have with you when delivering orders? I've had a couple of close shaves this campaign and had to give people loads of small change!!!

I normally take about £10-£20 inc some notes & change. It does depend on how many orders you have though.

Agree with you on both counts.

The Betterware system is to forewarn customers that you'll be delivering their order at ... pm the following day with a reminder how much is due. Initially I thought that was a bit of a pain but it does make the delivery process much quicker and people tend to have the correct money ready and waiting (as well as repeat orders sometimes :T ) Am wondering whether to adopt a similar system re. Avon - really don't like the concept of asking customers to choose their next campaign's order before receiving the current one but, maybe, those on the current campaign might like to have a 2nd butchers at the book they've already ordered from? Any thoughts anyone and/or anyone tried it?

What i used to do, and am doing now is to put a book in the door 2 days before i deliver there order saying something along the lines of: (in this example i would put it in their door on the 8th feb)

"I will deliver your last order between 10 feb - 12 feb. £10.50. Many Thanks"

It works well, sometimes they say they havent had chance to look at the book, then i just say ill come back in 2 days time to collect.

wish my customers would have right money or change! last time I told them all, will be visiting you on such a date, such a time, not one had right change!
  • Thanks, yes my SL says she drops a note in a few days before delivering the current order with the next book and then hopes to pick up the next order when she delivers. Personally, I have two problems with that:

    a) if Avon don't deliver something then it makes you look stupid for confirming the wrong amount due, and,
    b) most of my customers give me both copies of their order form back so they've no idea what they've ordered anyway so are very unlikely to want to order from a different book when they've still got a delivery o/s

May try tweeking my Avon more in line with Betterware though to a few of my better customers and see how it goes.

For the change - I tend to keep a certain amount in a purse I use solely for my avon money - at least one £5 note, at least £5 in pound coins, a couple of pounds of 50ps, a £1 of 20ps, 50p in 10ps and about 20p in change with 1ps/2ps - my customers know what date/time I'll be delivering, so quite a few are pretty good and have the correct money, but not always.

I give my customers a note about 5 days before I'll be due to deliver, confirming the amount due - if any bits are missing/out of stock then tough, I tell them when I deliver and apologise (and depending on the customer give them something to keep them sweet, especially if it has happened a few times), works for me & my customers, the way I look at it, if I didn't give them a delivery note, then they'd just expect everything to be in stock anyway and to be paying the amount they wrote on the order form so no harm done. I also put on the delivery note how they are doing on my loyalty scheme so kills 2 birds with one stone.

Forget my last request - turns out we are in the same area. Still noooo idea how big 'my area' is but suppose will all become clear eventually!

Each area covers quite a distance, but you could potentially live near the border line of a few areas - for example, my area only covers approx half of the town I live in, if I go the far side then it falls under the neighbouring area manager.

Once you get your website, you will be able to look on the SMA system, if you zoom out on it (it will make sense when your website is changed!) then it shows you where the different areas are.

I used to try and work in this neighbouring area managers patch, but since she allocated a new rep completely different territory to what she emailed me she was allocating, I'm avoiding her territory for leaflet drops for the time being and sticking to my own again!

Are you registering on flissys MC? It's free for 2 weeks, so you may as well, even if just to download the documents that are on there!

Hi all, i have a quick question.

In my second campaign now & doing ok again. Im aiming to get into presidents club at bronze level & am a bit confused about the Associate (sp) membership.

I know that if i acheve sales of £6500 in my first 18 campains (would be camp 4 for me) i am an associate member but what happens if i manage to reach £6500 by camp 18 this year (would only be 14 camps). Would i become a bronze member iyswim?

Yeah you would I did this last year... made associate in my 15th campaign (camp 13 i think) and then full bronze presidents club in campaign 16! :)

Im aiming for silver this year... but way behind already :(
