    Hi everyone,
I need to return some things as I'm unable to deliver them to the customer. I've tried about 7 times to deliver the order at various times of the day/evening and they have never been in. I've also left a note advising when I was next going to attempt to deliver and if this wasn't convenient for them to call me but still no luck. I've just gone onto the website to try and process the return but when I click on credits it says that there are no invoices available on this account. Do I need to pay my invoice before doing credits and if so do I pay the full amount stated or the amount stated less the value of the products I'm returning? I hope that makes sense!!

    Hi YM85,

I had to credits last week and noticed they hadn't applied them to my account, even though I got the email notification. I then received some avon money and paid part of my bill, and hey presto my credits appeared!

So, just pay your invoice less the credits you want to apply, if you have the money from the customers to pay it.

Thanks, aureol. How do you find out if a sign up is 'out of area' - think my next newbie may be but have no ideas i.e. is it just out of your town or where do I find out 'the areas'?

Hi MC, when you get access to the SL website, you will have an option to look up the postcode, when you do this, it will show you the ASM for that postcode and if it isn't yours, it is an out of area sign up.

I know with my territory, based on the postcodes where I live, what is out of area for my ASM. But it may not be the same where you live.
  • Thanks for your replies however about half an hour after I posted on here my customer called me and she's popping round at 3.30 to collect her order and pay for it so will be able to pay my invoice in full once she's been.

Hi again, aureol; unfortunately my website won't change until after my scheduled visit - any chance you could check for me? Her postcode is EX33 and mine is EX20

Would email my SL but know :j this is a much quicker way to get an answer! :T

Thanks again (sorry for being a pain).

Hi everyone I have put through my first order with no problems. Delivery is on Friday. I have ordered some pens which I my give to customers who have replacemet products or out of stock items, as a kind of sorry in hope that they order again. After reading this thread I want to do Avon (and myself) proud, you lot are very encouraging and honest (when saying it's not easy but can be worth it) Thanks for all the tips and ideas.
  • I've got to canvas a very large street. But would you put out latest brochures or back issues? I don't want to buy up loads of new books if I don't have to and would prefer to do it in one or two sweeps if possible.
  • Me again! Just wondered how you judge how much float to have with you when delivering orders? I've had a couple of close shaves this campaign and had to give people loads of small change!!!

My customers have now learnt that I do not carry a lot of change and now have the correct amount waiting for me.

I normally look at how much the individual orders come to and round it up to the nearest note and make sure I haev the difference in change (just in case).

    Hope that makes sense :)

Yes that's what I do. I agree though, your first time delivering is almost impossible to judge! The best you can do (thanks winsones!) is to carry enough change to round each order up to the nearest note. Hopefully then your first few deliveries will give you some change / notes which will increase your "float"!!
I am still finding that dropping an order note through the door a few days before really helps - 80% of my customers have the right money.
