I've been asked to do a Ladies Night at a local Club. Of course, I've said Yes but haven't a clue what to do. Apparently, they don't want any games and they'll be doing a raffle themselves i.e. for club funds. Of course, am looking at ordering 'a certain' amount of stock to hopefully sell on the night and taking lots of brochures for people to take away and/or order from on the night but.....
Any tips please on what I should do/say? It's obviously different to a house party in that the club will be open to all members; not just ladies.
How do I go about samples? Do I order things and then stand the cost, living in hopes I'll be able to use them again and/or (:o:o:o) can I use them for samples and then send them back to Avon? Shhhhh......
Really fancy the idea of giving a free gift to everyone - or maybe just to anyone who buys/orders over £10? Hmm...... am brainstorming whilst typing this.
Any/all contributions very much appreciated - thanks!
What about having some selected items, could be your surplus stock nothing expensive and place a star sticker on that item so whoever gets the book with it in wins that item, it'll at least get them looking through the book and you can pick how many products you will give away. I would go with products that they can try, remembering that if they are out for the night they will more than likely have done their hair, makeup and sprayed an excessive amount of perfume on :rotfl::rotfl:. I would take tissues or strips of card for them to spray the perfume on, I wouldn't take to many order a few of the popular ones and then return them. Try the hand creams, the sos one would be good to promote with any men who do alot of gardening or manual work. I would take moisturisers in the different ranges, especially ones on offer in that campaign and just highlight the fact that it also comes in a body scrub etc. Clearance jewellery could be good for on the spot sales, you know what woman are like when they get together if someone says that looks good on you you just have to have it, with my bargain basket I price everything up with the was (original price) and now price, I offer it as pay on the night or I will bag and labell it to be delivered and paid for with their brochure order. What about a flyer to go around the tabels stating that for every £x on orders you will receive a free gift with you delivery (I never include bargain basket items in this). Don't know if this is any use but let us know how it goes.0 -
I used to do avon when I was 15 ( I know that is against the rules ) it was in my moms name. That was ahem 21 years ago. I loved it. Actually If I had known these hints and tips I would have done very well. I did pretty well as it was.
I am thinking about getting into avon again.... seriously. I've contacted avon a few days ago via their website requesting information on being a rep and an area sales manager. I've not heard anything.
I've got a couple of queries - It seems that to make the most you need to run a team and recruit reps to work with you / for you? From a rep perspective why would they want to do this what benefit is there?
If you ask Avon would they give you stats on what is the best selling lines by customer 'type or group' like the best selling lipstick for the 30 - 40 year old customer is X, people in the south are buying y?

Morning all!
Another quick question...
If I order something from the Hello Tomorrow magazine and I don't like it (e.g. the new Spotlight perfume) - can I send it back for a refund?
Thanks!

New to all this. In HT it says that Clearance items are not for re-sale. Is this more to avoid people making a living by buying up all the clearance items and then just car booting it all? Is it ok if it is something like this Ladies Night or maybe a school fayre where the aim is to to generate interest with a view to recruiting longer term customers who take the catalogue? Any profit it on it is a nice bonus rather than the primary aim.
When you say 'bargain basket' is this items you have ordered from Clearance, those acquired by a bit of creative ordering, or those bought when on offer or a mixture of all of these?C5 £202; C6£541 :j; C7 £502; C8 £379; C9 £379

I was going to do a ladies night but it clashed with a wedding. So my friend on the commitee took brochures and some gift bags I had made up. There were others there like body shop and virgin vie and she said only people that made any money were those that had things to sell rather than demonstrate. I sold the gift bage but made nothing from brochures. Think she said body shop or virgin had orders of about £50!!!!
I did a school fete and bought loads of stock camp before . It was in Dec so bought Xmas stuff. Sold a lot of make up to teenagers like 99p eyeliners etc and a few bits to some of my customers. did a credit for the extra stock and sent it back with next order so I didn't actually have to pay for it before I did it.
Don't think I will bother do them again I did Macmillan cofee morning, ldies night and school fete and it wasn't really worth my while. didn't pick up any new customers.I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0 -

Technically no the clearance stuff isn't for re-sale, but then technically, we shouldn't sell ANY products, whether new or discontinued, to customers immediately (like at car boots/ fayres etc) there is meant to be at least 24 hours between order & delivery.
But - how likely is it that avon will find out?;)Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

To be honest my bargain basket has a mixture of items in it, I have current and past stock. I've used items from lot buys like the £30 packs that have been in the recent HT, I bought a few of the red bag with about 5 pieces of make up in it from the customer brochure and split it up, I've made the most of the 99p products and creative ordering. I know it states that clearance stock is not for resale but where a customer has bought one from the brochure then you buy one later on from clearance, who knows which one your selling an item thats been returned to you or a clearance buy. My bargain basket is supposed to be a bargain, I only make a few quid on each item and some not even that, I look at it like it's just a bit of a bonus whatever I get.0 -
