What about having some selected items, could be your surplus stock nothing expensive and place a star sticker on that item so whoever gets the book with it in wins that item, it'll at least get them looking through the book and you can pick how many products you will give away. I would go with products that they can try, remembering that if they are out for the night they will more than likely have done their hair, makeup and sprayed an excessive amount of perfume on :rotfl::rotfl:. I would take tissues or strips of card for them to spray the perfume on, I wouldn't take to many order a few of the popular ones and then return them. Try the hand creams, the sos one would be good to promote with any men who do alot of gardening or manual work. I would take moisturisers in the different ranges, especially ones on offer in that campaign and just highlight the fact that it also comes in a body scrub etc. Clearance jewellery could be good for on the spot sales, you know what woman are like when they get together if someone says that looks good on you you just have to have it, with my bargain basket I price everything up with the was (original price) and now price, I offer it as pay on the night or I will bag and labell it to be delivered and paid for with their brochure order. What about a flyer to go around the tabels stating that for every £x on orders you will receive a free gift with you delivery (I never include bargain basket items in this). Don't know if this is any use but let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the tips loopy. Think the strips of card idea is brilliant - will any card do or does it need to be a special sort, anyone?

Am told jewellry is probably what will turn out to be most popular so am currently spending hours trawling Clearance sections. Any feedback for what is a particularly good buy from the current ranges would also be really appreciated.

Already thought that I need to go out and get some price stickers (of some sort) to differentiate current stock/re-orderable from clearance. Any suggestions there? Just different colours (if I can find some) I was thinking.....

One little problem is that the organisers want their 10% commission, in cash, on the night so whilst it goes against my normal modus operandi it looks like anything ordered from a catalogue will have to be paid for in advance. (Bit of a prob, if it then turns out to be oos.) So, thought maybe best to just buy ooooodles of stock and then, unfortunately, have to return whatever I can't sell. (Will Avon give me a black mark for that or is there a 'special' route to stock up for parties?)

Do like the idea of a free gift for £x of spend - any suggestions as to what £x should be and the respective gifts? My thinking is to start at £10 then step up for every £5 after that or would that be too complicated?

Sorry, for all the questions - really excited about it.... Will deffo make a change to have loads of potential customers in one place rather than 'walking the streets' :rotfl:

I was going to do a ladies night but it clashed with a wedding. So my friend on the commitee took brochures and some gift bags I had made up. There were others there like body shop and virgin vie and she said only people that made any money were those that had things to sell rather than demonstrate. I sold the gift bage but made nothing from brochures. Think she said body shop or virgin had orders of about £50!!!!
I did a school fete and bought loads of stock camp before . It was in Dec so bought Xmas stuff. Sold a lot of make up to teenagers like 99p eyeliners etc and a few bits to some of my customers. did a credit for the extra stock and sent it back with next order so I didn't actually have to pay for it before I did it.
Don't think I will bother do them again I did Macmillan cofee morning, ldies night and school fete and it wasn't really worth my while. didn't pick up any new customers.

Thanks for the tips, denise. Yes, I was thinking that maybe taking stock of the cheap and cheerful things would be better and then just samples of the more expensive stuff although think I'll give the moneymaker a go with the Spotlight. (Also, turns out I was only invited because one of my customers works there so am thinking she's due a decent pressie and that would fit the bill nicely. :T)

Am not an artistic sort but maybe I'll have a bash at a few gift baskets... Also do Betterware but not looking at taking a lot of stock re. that otherwise there won't be room for the punters! :rotfl:

I've bought a pack of 20 sheets from The Works this weekend for 99p, it feels quite porous so will let you know.
Of course, I did that, then remembered that I haven't actually bought a demo bottle yet to spray on the card so it might be a couple of weeks before I give it a go.
I usually leave my books out for a week so if the card still smells when I collect them back in then I'll know if it was successful!

For the first time sice I started I am not in the least bit motivated to go out delivering tonight. This time Monday night has been the busiest of my 3 days I deliver.Usually it is a wednesday morning. Guess these 3 quick campaigns has just caught up. Looking forward to having full week and 2 days after i have delivered and collected before next order due. I used to get fed up myself as a buyer when these quick camp came. Girls have extra 3 days off from thursday with inservice and half term so it will be good to have Avon done banked and paid for Thursday!!!
I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!

Oooh very excited, have bought some cheap star stickers at lunchtime and am going to stick them in my next lot of books and do ...

Order £7 or more and find the star sticker to receive a free sample selection!
    OR
Order £15 or more and find the star sticker to receive a free gift!

When I was a customer my rep never did anything like this - aren't my lot spoilt? !! Sample selection will prob include 3 or 4 samples, and free gift will prob be a 99p job.

Interesting to know for future reference:
I am sorry that we do not have the information to say which shade the green colour the model is wearing. There is a possibility it could be the models own. Or it may be the makeup artists.
I appreciate your suggestion about putting the details on the page. This is now done if the model is promoting the product. But on the page you refer to she is demonstrating the Multistylo.

    Hi everyone!

Another quick question, if you don't mind.... :)

I can't seem to find the Reece Witherspoon 'In Bloom' and the Patrick Dempsey 'Unscripted' fragrances in brochure C5. Have Avon discontinued these? If not, how come they're not in this brochure?

I'm just about to put in my C4 order, and I thought it would be nice to get some samples to give to my customers as freebies along with their order when I deliver. But of course I don't want to get samples that they can't actually order from C5 should they wish to!!

    Thanks!

Haven't got a C5 book to hand - but don't think they have been discontinued yet - it is probably just because they are promoting so much mothers day stuff in C5, they haven't got space to fit everything in, and it will probably be in C6. Sometimes they miss a campaign with some products simply due to not having enough space.

Oooh, it sounds so exciting!! Well done you for finding some star stickers (I wouldn't have a clue where to star looking!).

I love your ideas for freebies. I think the order values are spot on.

Lots of luck - make sure you let us know how you get on!!
