Hi there I think I would really like to give Avon a try.
I know of one mum at school gates who does it but not many others around here I think, I've never seen a book about and there are a few new housing developments so maybe worth a go?
I'm not really a super glam person though, do you think I'd be OK? Is it difficult to get into? TIA:)0 -

Hi!
I'm about the least glam person you can find, I hardley wear makeup and live in jeans and jumpersI initially didnt think Avon would be right for me but now I love it, my entire makeup bag is now Avon so when I do go out I can now get pretty, plus my bathroom is full of bubble bath, shower gel ect. Give it a go and you might be like me and end up loving it:)

You'll be suprised at how confident you get ! I went out with my ASM yesterday doing a "swoop" - this is when you hit an area and just stop people walking past.
We went to my town centre and I was there with a Senior Executive Level Sales Leader , I thought she might have been a bit more friendly, but never mind.My ASM had free sample of the new lipstick to give out, so we used that to stop people to talk to us. I got 3 signs ups that way, and some hopefully potential customers, who like avon, never see a book and want a book!
And I didn't think I could do that! And yes I saw 2 people I knew!0 -
Sorry forgot about PC Club, yes Elliebee made it last year.0

naomibones, you don't need to be a glam person to do avon. I go out in jeans and jumpers in winter, and leggings and avon flip flops in summer.
You can do a trial for 2 weeks without paying anything, if you are not happy, avon not for you, you can give it up, no obligation.
However, as a mum, it would be great for building your confidence, meeting new people, a little extra money in your pocket and great exercise!
Whereabouts do you live? There might be an SL on here that can come and see you and tell you more about it.
Also, read through the previous 2 threads, gives you lots of information, ideas, and lots and lots of hints and tips for building your customer base.0 -
My poor rep went out in the rain yesterday after I talked to her last friday and made an effort, but only 3 of her books were out and no one was answering the door. Looked up her territory on SMA and think her ASM has assigned her someone else's territory! there is another rep on one of her allocated roads! So no wonder she isn't getting sales.
Also the item I was trying to get for her, think the customer asked the other rep, as they both live on the same road, and the rep would have said same as mine, delivery is monday.Cheeky customer!0 -
Thanks for the answers ladies  What I was really wanting to know was is the MOV £48 or £70 something for an additional order on C4. As the minimum for C5 is back to normal, I wasn't sure whether that applied to additional back orders as well.
Fed up with Avon at the moment - i'm still waiting for the missing items from the last order and have my very best customer getting impatient (don't blame her either). I apparently went to the courier on Friday, so according to Avon I should have it my the end of today - only 7 days late 'Better to ask a silly question than to make a silly mistake' Elliebee's Mum

Sometimes the bag comes back with the fragrance sample I've given them as a freebie....... Having said that more than half my customers tend to order so guess that's quite good? What percentage of customers to orders do others get?
I've dropped C4 to 126 homes (this is my 1st campaign) and I've only got 9 orders totalling £93.75!! This works out as only 7% of customers ordering! Also 25 of the 126 have told me that they don't want any more brochures - so that's 20% of my potential customers gone in a flash! Luckily my family and friends have helped me out with this 1st order, and with their orders, my C4 order will be just over £200. My parents and sister have spent £60 between them - bless! But I know I can't rely on them every campaign to get my orders up to MOV!
There's a bit of a problem with my road allocations. I didn't go through a SL, but enquired via the Avon website. Therefore I am looked after by my ASM.
Basically, there is another local Rep who seems to have most of the local roads allocated to her (250+ houses) but only orders 15 books per campaign. Well, it turns out that she was also cold canvassing the roads I've now been given. My ASM has told her that the roads that have been allocated to me are 'my' roads, and that she should not be canvassing them. Of course, she will keep 'her' customers. I don't have a problem with this, but I do worry that her past record of unreliability for these cold-canvassed roads will affect me. When I went to drop my C4s in one of these roads the other day, I thought I'd knock on a few doors to find out the situation, and I spoke to a couple of lovely women who told me that there used to be someone who did Avon, then she was going to give it up, then she didn't, etc. So I know I'm going to have to work extra hard with these roads.
I decided to go with Avon, as I knew Reps were allocated roads to look after and that there wouldn't be any competition to 'grab' customers. It's very disappointing when the actions of someone else affect your reputation from the start.
We'll just have to see how it goes! The moment I start paying out more than I'm earning, I shall have to think again! If you've found this post helpful, for your thanks, I'd be grateful!Log on, then click the 'thumbs up'and give my rating a leg up!0 -

:mad::mad: Just spoken to Avon again - they tried to deliver on Saturday when I was out but didn't leave any note so that I could contact them to find out when it would be re-delivered. I don't have a 'safe-place' as I'm usually here for deliveries and in any case, can't guarantee a neighbour being in (no shed or garage either).
