Evening all.
Wow, Diva. Tris is really amazing the way he rallies. It must be so hard to watch him go up and down like this. Are you in contact with his family? How are they coping? My heart goes out to them.
Happy Birthday to Mr Pooby.I hope his birthday treat isn't to share your bath. :rotfl:_pale_
Nice to see you posting Sassymoneysaver. :hello:
Hope your headache eases Lamewolf. xxx
I've had a mad day.I've taken on far too much for this weekend so now I'm struggling. As well as my own girls I had someone elses for the afternoon, plus the robin who keeps coming in the kitchen to see me and in my disorganised state I managed to slice my thumb. _pale_
But I have achieved some stuff. I've made some fudge, a spag bol, a venison casserole, 2 dozen St Stephen's day muffins, a sticky toffee pudding, pea and ham soup, 3 dozen mince pies and some fifteens.
Off to clean the kitchen and then put my feet up and knit.

Hiya everyone
I know I don’t post as much as I should, but I do read, its my me time when I get in from work to read the daily
Just a few responses to todays thread, otherwise I will be here till midnight
Aussie – tips on training DHs please, love the fact it was all cleaned up before you got home
Tru & Diva - yeahhhhh now its Christmas…on a more serious note Diva, you and Tris are in my thoughts, have a candle burning here and have had a word with it. Tru …..daughters!!!!! am now going through all this the 2nd time with my nearly-stepdaughter, don’t you just love them
Halight - hope the colds are on their way out, love hearing about your twins, they are very close in age to my DGD1
Essex – hope the garage stuff gets sorted quick
Ruby - hope OH had a great day and you hear about the mortgage soon
Pen-pen I don’t have an Advent calendar, chocolate or otherwise so I am sharing your snowflake, hope you don’t mind
Taplady - your post reminded me of when I lived on a farm and the milk tanker got stuck on the ice at the bottom of the drive, tried pulling with the tractor and nowt happened, in the end me and the MIL were pouring boiling water while the tractor pulled
Lowesy – have you tried ebay, can often get a charger on there for far less than the phone shops sell them for (OH has a nasty habit of taking them to work and losing them so speaking from experience here)
Haribo – can relate to the knitted stocking garland – I have a material xmas tree one that is going to make people gasp and ignore the fact the buffet has come from farmfoods (‘cos I am having a ‘you people wouldn’t know if I had slaved over an open stove for a week’ moment…well more than a moment)
Bargainbird – crochet? Crochet? I need to hide me hooks, am getting addicted to making snowmen and those twirly scarfs
Zippy - when you find the motivation can you send some my way, cos I really need to find another job, but it’s the thought of filling out application forms etc
If I haven’t mentioned anyone, its not ‘cos I don’t care, its just ‘cos am aware I will be taking up a great deal of space.
Well, as for me, had 3 days off work last week, and lucky me, went down with flu on the 2nd day so that was me off for the whole week. From the Tues to the Sat all I could do was drag myself from bed to sofa. Turned laptop off tues lunch time, didn’t go back on till Sat afternoon – boy I must have been ill. So OS has gone a bit down the drain for now, OH has been good, but why oh why does he wash up...we have a dishwasher, better he scrubs the loo lol. Have to say he was good on Sunday as I felt better then and spent the day on th sofa doing crochet and he did all the chores and made dinner awww bless him, think he was so greatful that I actually looked human again that I could have got away with anything.
Was back to work on Monday and has been very busy and stressfull but have left at 5.30 each day instead of working over, think I got flu as working too much and getting run down and stressed out, so am now trying to do what I can in my hours and if its not all done, its not my fault, they need more staff. I am only supposed to be contacted for 5 hours a day and have been working 8 hours a day since May, will do the 8 hours but no more (especially seeing as when I take holiday I only get 5hrs a day)
Better go now as this post is wayyyyyyy to long, will try and post more often and keep it short.
(((hugs))) to all and extra ones to those who need them
cyas soon

Evening all
Just caught up with the thread and firstly ((((Hugs)))) to Diva and Tris and a prayer for his continued recovery.
Happy Birthday Mr Redruby
PP hope you are OK ((((Hugs))))
Made carbonara for tea, OH has just had his as they have a rush job on at work and he didn't get home till 7.30 (after starting at 6 this morning) After a whole year of being on short time - it feels a bit like feast or famine. The extra money will really help for Christmas but we just know it is only a short matter of time before he is back on short hours again. Best make the best of it for the time being.
Day off tomorrow for me so have sorted washing out ready to turn on tonight. I intend baking some mincepies tomorrow and freezing them, so will have to look for a idiot proof pastry recipe! I can do cakes but have never been any good at pastry.
Have a good evening all

Good Evening Chums, just got back from eldest DD's It was her 42nd birthday today so I have been scoffing chocolate cake tonight.Have had a good day as I went to see my lymphodema therapist today and he is hopeful that I will be able to reduce the swelling in my arm over the next few weeks.Bit expensive but worth it if it comes down.If I lived in Sittingbourne it would be free but my local PCT won't fund manual lymphodema drainage at the moment.
Then this afternoon I toddled off to the dentist .Will need one filling but he is booked solid until mid-January so thats been put on the back burner for 6 weeks. I went to this new dentist, and he was really nice.A huge African chap with the widest grin, and very gentle when he gave my old choppers a good clean to keep me going until then.
So hopefully I can now have a day indoors tomorrow and get some of my presents wrapped as I think I have got them all now. Will do my cards as well so I can relax and all the rushing around is done.
Well time to trot off to the land of Nod '
Night all,God Bless

Good evening... or is it morning?
I went over to Harrogate for my meeting, was going to stay with friend and then at 10.30 decided to come home after all. Was awake enough to drive home and would rather have a late night than an early morning esp at this time of the year. Although it was foggy coming 'over the tops' it cleared as soon as I started down on the Manchester side, so 2nd half of the journey was easier. I would rather drive in the fog in the dark on empty roads than with the morning traffic.
DH might have his Ts and Cs and expenses regime sorted at long last. This seems to be in a way that is financially better for us thank goodness. Like most people (or so it seems to me) we have a long list of things we want to buy and do.
DH very disparaging about the wish list I had so carefully prepared for him in anticipation of my birthday with a nought and CHristmas coming up. I thought it was good list and detailed. Was well p*$$£ed off with him when he said that there was nothing on there that X or Y would want to buy me. I very quietly said that I was sorry but that they were things I would like. 'Trifle dish' what's that about? he said. THat's not for you. I then suggested that he could buy me some flowers and I'd make sure I put them where noone else could see them.
In fact, much later on I said I really didn't feel up to a fuss over my birthday. He's away with work that week. Children will both be home and off school. I shall have a nice lunch out with them I think. Maybe dd will make me a cake. I might have a party next summer.
My mum is cooking for us at our house on Christmas Eve as a treat for me when the family is together. I shall enjoy that.
Am I ranting? Sorry chaps! I guess I should go to bed soon, as I have sewing job to finish tomorrow. Then into work in the afternoon. If I'm not careful someone will be starting the daily!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
