    Morning all,

More rain due today  one sunny but cold day, then back to rain.

Off to work today, so os will be at a mimimum until i get home, will then get dd to put a wash on and I will hoover round.

Its OH Birthday today, haven't done presents yet, will leave that until tonight. A quick pasta something for tea tonight.

Finished off all my cards yesterday, and posted the ones to go abroad, thats another thing done.

And Diva, yes one of the Birthday Cards was for you, all you have to do is come and collect it :D

DD left a box of after eight mints on the armchair last night, came down this morning, and surprise surprise they have all gone , cue one grovelling little dog making an appearance, I have told dd so many times not to leave things lying around, I think she may have learnt her lesson now though, chocolate can be very dangerous for dogs, although she seems ok, and does have minty fresh breath  :D

Tru its so nice to see you posting again, bring on the carols :T

Hugs where needed, and have fun all xx

    Morning.

Not as cold here as yesterday but still damp. Going for my first weekly food shop of December this morning then off to MIL's flat to hand back the keys with SIL :T

Leek & potato soup for lunch and omlettes for dinner as there's only myself, DH & DS3 as the others are all doing various things this evening.

Have a good day everyone & hugs where needed.

Tru - sorry you have had such a tough time with DD. They are definitely sent to "try" us. I have just looked at your website - Mollybean farm sounds lovely.
Essex Girl - Lucky noone was hurt but mega stressful Hope things get sorted quickly.

OS - well usual washing and sorting.

Sorry - will post later when im more interesting.
    Love Mollyx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    morning all!

damp here today but warmer although I like the frost as Redruby said yesterday its more Christmassy. DH doesn't agree as his milkvan got stuck down a lane yesterday on the ice for half an hour and had to be towed out!

Diva - thankyou for the carol:Thope youe hip improves x

Tru - nice to have you posting :j- sorry you've had a lot of worries lately x

    PP - (((hugs)))

Redruby - our little jack russell(sadly departed now) once found my stash of goodies under the bed and ate the lot! mini rolls, chocolate biscuits and treacle tarts - the wrappers were everywhere!:D he was fine although I do know you shouldn't give human chocolate to dogs.

PenPen - like the story of the chickens and the toast - my big dog is like my shadow when he knows I'm making toast!:D the little dog gets all excited whenever I get milk from the fridge as he loves it and they both get worked up when I'm making gravy:D

    plans for today

do the ironing I didn't do yesterday

    2 loads of washing

    clean Mums house

check the holiday cottage over as there's guests in on Saturday

start writing christmas cards(hate doing this)

Tea tonight is an easy tea from the freezer as its slimming world for me so will probably be fishfingers chips and mushy peas.

hope you all have a good day x

    Morning all,

MSD - thanks for the carol! I LOVE Christmas sooooooooo much :snow_laug Hope your hip doesn't give you too much hassle today
PenPin - thinking of you xx
Molly - huggles - sorry you're feeling a bit down

What rotten weather! Was really hoping after yesterday that we'd get some lovely cold, crisp winter's days now rather than this rubbish rain.

Managed to get DH out of the house in a coat today. He's been convinced that because we go to work in the car he doesn't need one . After yesterday and him not being able to feel his hands on the steering wheel, he has come around to my way of thinking!

Have a load of darks to wash when I get home, and need to handwash a top too. (I will never know why I bought a silk top...!) We've got leftover macaroni cheese for lunch today, and am now doing Friday's beef stew with pearl barley and dumplings tonight as I fiddled the meal plan and would have ended up with pasta two days running :naughty:

My phone charger totally packed up yesterday! Very unsure what to do about it as I'm nearing the end of my contract and want to swap for a cheaper one and new phone, so don't really want to fork out for a new charger if I'm getting rid of the phone. However, my SD's need to be able to get in touch with me at all times (long story), so don't know what to do

Anyway, have a lovely day, hugs to those in need/want xx

  • Morning All! Before 9am, so I am proud of myself!

Never did get the bathrooms done yesterday - its my worst job, but even though I know it gets worse the longer I put it off, I still put it off! Still, got a friend and her little boys coming over on Friday morning, so that should be enough motivation...

Today I'm planning on going to the Christmas Market in Cheltenham. Not sure how much LO will appreciate, but it will be lovely to see all the stalls. I just love the notebooks with all the different covers in leather, fabric etc. Never buy any though as I'd never know how I'd fill it since I have about 4 such notebooks on the go at home and none of them have ever been filled!

OS wise, WM is on with the bedlinen and will be returning two camera lenses that we borrowed to shoot a wedding a couple of weekends back. A photographer friend and us sort of pool resources, though his pool is way way bigger than ours! Still, its £2k a time we save. Dinner will be salmon fillets, was inspired by my sister who called me last week as she was cooking them for the first time. Must remember that she is a doctor, living in a v cheap houseshare and only has herself to look after so can't be copying all her meals!

Does anyone know when the Royal Variety Show is on this year? I usually wrap my presents with it on in the background!

    Have a good day all

    xx

    Morning all :hello:

It's all lovely and bright chez Morwenna today. We have new UPVC windows, front door and french doors at the back :D The chap who fitted them was really lovely and kept asking at each stage was I pleased with the job. Unfortunately, yesterday when he was doing the kitchen window & french doors, I succumbed to some sort of stomach flue type thing, so I was mumbling "yes, that's wonderful," as I hurtled past him towards the loo at speed! :rotfl:And now, obviously, I need to get the sewing machine out for new curtains

Is there a formula for chutney, does anyone know? eg: x amount fruit/veg+x amount sugar/vinegar etc = 1 jar? I have various yellow sticker stuff that shouts "make chutney" but the only preserving book I have is american - it has lovely recipes but doesn't state the yield.

Hugs to PP, JC and son and all who need them today.

Pen Pen - Pavlovs chickens :rotfl::rotfl: Oh, in our advent calender today is [STRIKE]a festive duck with sunburn[/STRIKE] oh, wait a badly done robin!

Well, I seem to have recovered from my "detox" so am off to see if some toast will stay down. Have a lovely day all!
  • Morning everyone :hello:

You know it's going to be one of those days when a child drops a whole loo roll down the loo and another child suggests that you might want to wear a hat before you do the school run, not on account of the cold, but because your hair is "embarrasing" :o:D
I have one twin at home awaiting a dentist appt this morning and once she is deposited at school I will get on with the thousands of jobs I have given myself to do by the weekend. I even annoy myself with all this unnecessary preparation, but in my defense, my knitted minature stocking garland is gorgeous so even if my guests have nothing to eat, they can just admire that instead. :rotfl:
The girls have robots to make for a school project so I have to go and raid the recycling bin before the bin men come. Then I will be shopping and baking and cleaning and washing. Mince and tatties for tea and the girls have a friend here for that.

So lovely to see you Tru. :j:T:D Was hoping you'd do the carols this year. :A
Glad that little dog is ok RedPooby. :D
Hope you feel better later Molly.

Lovely to see tru back but sorry about her dd and glad she is safe.

    Penny Pincher

Gentle hug - at least it looks as if things will be checked quickly - fingers and toes crossed it turns out not to be a worry.

DH just brought me a cup of tea and in a very disconsolate tone said "I've just checked my e mails and there is one from work!"

He is taking early retirement at the end of January so thought it might be that- but no.

Mid December, his company have a meeting in a hotel that is doing a "take that" evening. Seems I have been booked in as well for dinner, entertainment and night at hotel with breakfast next day :j

DH hates a "fuss" so looked hangdog when I burst out laughing and went "Yippee".

Youngest DD is only 15 but will have her sister (24) at home and her 20 year old sister will be back from university as well so they should be fine.

We go to the Warfarin clinic tomorrow and stop off at a big Tesco so might look for a nice top to wear with black trousers ( will also be able to wear over Christmas so MSE really);) I know I am not up to shopping in city centre yet so trying to pace myself.

Going to have egg on toast for brekkie and think what to make for tea, maybe Spanish omelette or baked fish from freezer.

Hug to everyone and see you later
