    Afternoon all,

Nothing to report here except that it is slightly warmer here to-day and there is even some sun!

Need to pack today and can only find one of Ulick's black shoes, so will be facing that kind of problem....Kerry likes shoes so am hoping that she has not been playing with the missing shoe! Have got better with packing enough but not too much as time goes by so provided that I can find everything it shouldn't be a huge task.

Good to see you back tru...sorry you have had so much hassle in your life, glad that things are now better.

Diva...pleased to say that I did not succumb to the desire for something sweet last night.

Molly...thought that it was only Kerry who searched the dishwasher for scraps of food....trying to keep her on her own food is difficult as she likes cat food better. Sorry that you are feeling down, hope that you improve as day goes by....hugs

Hugs to all who are not feeling well or have other troubles in their lives

Well, it's afternoon now, I only just got here. I went to work at the last minute as I couldn't get out of bed. Came out of work, petrol, cash and a bit of shopping at Morrisons.

Not really planned it like that but some wine we had recently was on offer, so got some, then looked to see if they had bacon scraps, as they don't always have this, noticed gammon hocks, so had one of those. Dishwasher tabs on half price and binbags on offer. Mince for planned burgers when the family comes and a couple of packs of YS liver. Not much of the ££ was on food, rather glad about that as I'm still within budget so far.

Place is a pickle cos I've been sewing. Seat covers still not finished, but got a paying job on at the moment. As I'm going to Harrogate shortly for a meeting this evening I though I'd better have a go at the sewing and then have a quick look here over lunch (left over risotto, which is yum). Bettter do a bit of a tidy before I leave. DS here overnight on his own, but will be fine. MIL is giving him a meal.

Enjoy the rest of your day folks!

  • I haven't read the thread yet, forgive me.

While I was talking to Tristan in the early hours he started to feel worse (not normally the effect I have on him) and he started to cough up blood. He is now having emergency surgery.. But the Doctors are not hopeful.

Could I please ask for your prayers and thoughts? He keeps beating the odds but you have to wonder when that ends..

I was going to post this hours ago.. not sure where the time went.

I know it seems like I keep asking for help for Tris, and I know I have had nearly an extra year since the coma he was in and not supposed to come out of; but I hope you will forgive me for asking again.

    Thank you all.

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

Oh Money Saving Diva - my thoughts and prayers are with Tris and you. It must be dreadful waiting. Will they ring you when surgery is through?

I have a candle burning - that flame denotes hope and light xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

  • Afternoon all,

MSD you and Tris are in my thoughts.

Sorry to have been such a sporadic poster recently. Our christmas tree went up on sunday-with the 'help' of dd!
We had a powercut on monday from 2pm to 8pm, so no lighting or central heating, luckily I was sat sewing when it went off and so had the gas fire on as I was chilly so had to leave it on the pilot light when I collected dd from school as I didn't know whether it would relight if I turned it off completely. Also luckily I had some candles(they were in with boxes of christmas decorations) but no matches so I had to light one from the gasfire to light the rest and the gas hob for tea! We had tea by candlelight and I read her stories by the fire before she went to bed which was really nice and she was ever so good.
I now have a tin containing candles, tealights, matches and spare batteries for both the torches so we will be better prepared if it happens again.
    HM shepherds pie for tea.
DD was supposed to be having her swine flu jab this afternoon but I've had to postpone it as she's full of cold.
Sending a big hug for anyone in need.
