    Morning everyone.

Feel better cold wise today :T Still some snot (sorry for TMI :o) but got my appetite back and a bit more energy. Told H I was worried about him, he's not keen on looking for another job since he knows people who left or made redundant who are struggling to compete with so many people for the same job. I think he's thinking better the devil you know at the moment. I think when the recession is over we can look again at trying to relocate but heaven only knows when that will actually be.
Anyway enough of my whinging and moaning - you lot will think that's all I do at this rate :o No idea what to do for tea tonight, meal planning had been on the slide whilst I've been poorly oops! Usual round of washing, housework and being a childrens entertainer :rotfl:

Penny - consoling2.gif to you. I know lumps are scary, especially when you know family who have had breast cancer but it may not be anything. My have lumpy breasts and have a number of fibroedema's (sp?). At least you are having it checked out ASAP which can only be a good thing.

Molly - sorry you're feeling fed up consoling2.gif

Redruby - Happy birthday to Mr Ruby. :rotfl: at grovelling dog with minty breath! Perhaps I should try that with my mums old labradors.

Halight - sorry to hear you are all poorly with colds x hope you are all on the mend soon.

Hester - Get him to drink Indian tonic water before bedtime (it's up to him if he has gin with it or not ;)). The quinine (sp?) it contains helps prevent the cramp. I get it in my calves and down the front of my foot at times. It's agony!

Diva - hope your hip is better soon. Thanks for the Christmas Carols - I may not be a believer in that area but I do love Christmas Carols. I just wish I could join a choir at Christmas so I can sing them :o

Haribo - :rotfl: at your guests going hungry whilst admiring your knitted garland. Pics please :D

Watched Delia's Christmas prog last night. Some nice things but no way my H would eat any of it. He loathes butter and cream  Still made me feel all Christmassy HSlights.gif

hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.

Really enjoyed Greek last night and a bit gutted we have one week left but were all going out on the 16th to a greek resteraunt for some lovely greek food and maybe some Ouzo lol

OH woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me he had a sore throat and temp, I really wanted to hear that at half4 but he wanted a cuddle to big softie :rotfl:

WM on when I left and not sure whats for tea as i'll be in late again tonight, having baked pots tomorrow and at a friends on friday who is going through a bad time atm with her lazy fiance, who isn't working and gets sacked from every job, she has took on another job at the local golf course and is working Xmas day and Boxing day  I'm really not sure why she puts up with him, in the 12 years i've know her she has never had a decent man in her life!!

Hope everyone has a great day and hugs to all
  • Morning all

i hope you are all well and happy.

I'm feeling much better, antibiotics seem to be working. Have called a man back to the house today who fitted a new shower here last week. We just cant use it, as soon as you turn the temp up, it trickles. its pathetic! It would take me an hour to wash my hair under it. i think he has forgotten to turn something back on properly.

Day off today which is heavenly. Im about to grab some breakfast of some sort, jump in the bath and then get the hoovering out of the way.

not sure what i will be eating later as ive got choir practise, so itll be whatever i can grab before i go. Although i want to make blueberry muffins and some mince pies today!

Tru - Sorry you are having so much hassle atm - it is lovely to see you again though :)
PP - ((hug)) for you, sorry you're feeling unwell
Bitsy - my dad is like that with butter and cream, my mum whips cream and tells him it's dream topping - and he eats it then with no complaints :rotfl:

I wandered round co-op in a fit of apathy yesterday trying to decide what to cook for dinner. OH ended up with chilli and mango dressed plaice, jasmine rice and salad, I decided on a cheese sandwich and half a litre of baileys :D I may have the rest of the bailey's tonight :D

We have a friend who recently moved to the US with her husband and is feeling a bit down. I want to send her a "european winter in a box" type gift so if anyone has any ideas I would be really grateful - she is from Poland, he is American, they are Hindu, don't drink and are strict vegatarians (also no eggs). I have found chocolate, a pashmina and some paper snowflakes so far, but I'm pretty stumped other than that. I might add some candles. I just want to cheer her up as she is far away from everyone in the wilds of the deep south and I worry about her.

One folksy order to post today - was quite lucky as I had been photographing the item on my desk yesterday so can post it straight away.

More beads from Prague :) I made this at 3am in a fit of insomnia to match today's shirt :) OH was teasing me - normally I bring them and don't use them (but they are oh so shiny.... ) I haven't worked out what to do with the button mountain yet though...

    Morning all!

Cold here again today, and wet too! Still at least it wasn't windy, so the dog didn't moan about going out!

OS stuff today will involve a bit of cleaning, tidying and cooking, same old same old!

Dinner will be whatever I grab from the freezer or cupboards, trying to use some stuff up, and mealplanning has gone a bit haywire!

Lunches: bulghar wheat salad, olives, apple, jaffa cakes.

Looking forward to a night off work and going to the cinema tonight, have a good day all xx

.....Does anyone know when the Royal Variety Show is on this year? I usually wrap my presents with it on in the background!

Next Monday, 7th December, from the Opera House in Blackpool :D

...We go to the Warfarin clinic tomorrow and stop off at a big Tesco so might look for a nice top to wear with black trousers ( will also be able to wear over Christmas so MSE really);) I know I am not up to shopping in city centre yet so trying to pace myself.....

Have you looked at Tesco clothes or George at Asda online?

DD left a box of after eight mints on the armchair last night, came down this morning, and surprise surprise they have all gone , cue one grovelling little dog making an appearance, I have told dd so many times not to leave things lying around, I think she may have learnt her lesson now though, chocolate can be very dangerous for dogs, although she seems ok, and does have minty fresh breath  :D

That is so what my dogs are like....Poppy in paritcular as she has food issues...she was the runt of her litter so never got enough to eat. She climbs in the dishwasher to see what she can lick off the dirty plates:eek::eek:. We always check before we turn it on... Never the clean plates though. Minty breath has got to be better than early morning doggy breath.

How about a small paperweight that "snows" when you shake it?

Hot choc in a mug with choc dipped plastic spoons etc.

    Floss
    Thanks for the idea.

Going to look online now for tops ideas. Lost a trouser size in a month and need to lose quite a bit more weight so don't want to spend a fortune but don't want to look shabby either IYKWIM.
