    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning everyone
I'll be "cheating" on Wednesday, I'm taking my pot and a tin opener to the HSBC in Liverpool city centre and pouring the contents into their coin counting machine, the money is then deposited straight into my bank account at the end of business. If I tried counting the money in the house I'd have a mad Jack Russell trying to help me!

Get well wrapped up everyone, stay safe and take care

Banked £30 into my savings today. My grand total for the year is £368. Got money left over that have not made the full amount for the money bags, so keeping them for next year's challenge. Am using my money to help pay for some of next year's property maintenance bill, which is due in January.

£8.04 added to the pot yesterday, I can't remember how exactly I managed to get that figure together to put in there but I'm quite impressed with it! So I now have £12.34 in there.

I now actually have a sealed pot too, got it from poundstretcher for 99p. I went over to the till with a sensible looking one that had a picture of a £50 note on the front but when I was waiting in the queue I saw a very ridiculous one with Spongebob Squarepants on the front that looked a lot better in my opinion! Have just migrated my coins over and I love the satisfying "clunk" noise from dropping them in. Hopefully over time though I'll no longer hear this noise and it will indicate my pot is filling up!

And the best thing about this pot is it can only be opened with a tin opener and I am hopeless with tin openers, so my money is definitely safe until opening day unless I want a lecture from my mum!

I still haven't decided what I want to save towards, any suggestions? I'm not a big fan of holidays or nights out and I think it would be quite dull to just put it all into my ISA. I will be 21 though a couple of months into 2012 so maybe I could buy myself an early birthday present? All suggestions welcome.
    Thank you competition posters!

Hi everyone, hope you've all had a good day. We went for a beautiful, though bitterly cold, walk, it was lovely to see a gorgeous dusting of snow in the fields. I love it! Then home in the warm! :)

sparky, I never thought you'd be using a as a cash counter, though I guess if you've got THAT much you'd need to! ;) ...and just look at all the exercise you're depriving your Jack of! For me it would take some fun away, I love it when it starts to plop out, then another and so on!!! :j
Ahh.. don't you worry about your excitement dooleysdollymix88, it'sa good feelingfor us all to have.

Hiya LC!! :D I've been wondering what's happened to you and was even concerned you might be poorly. Glad you're not. Isn't it ever bitterly cold!

Thanks so much for what you said above. I don't mind if people want to count it before, but would hope they'd all leave putting it on til Wednesday. It'll be better for sparky and I, but especially sparks, who's working. Thanks LC and we'll look forward to hearing how much you have on Wednesday! :D

Very well done on your savings, Kerry! :T You've done very well and will obviously need it, for the good though.

Great news frasersmum, it's all go for you now then!! ;)

A good amount Decluttering, no matter how you achieved it. Sounds as though your pot chose YOU! :D With regards to what you'll do with your savings...why not just keep saving and wait and see what attracts you, if nothing's come to mind by your Birthday then give thoughts to a car perhaps? Banking it is always handy though..boring yes, but it's always good to have 'something behind you' and very MSE :money: ;)

    Must dash, back later

Good idea, maybe not a car but I might start to be a bit impatient for driving lessons. Just looked up the cost  there is no way I'm going to have that in my pot but it can go towards the cost if I don't think of a more realistic goal.
    Thank you competition posters!
