  • Thank you for giving me a number - shall go sort a signature imminently.

I posted on my diary thread "Getting ready for the Olympics" that I had found some change in my son's bedroom, I sent him a text and he said I could start my sealed pot.

In the absence of a sealed pot (as yet) I am putting £3.43 in a tin. Actually that's a lie - the coppers (68p) are going in the demijohn.

Hi All, only a £1 coin into cinders tin and 5p into whiskey jar for me today x Spent far too much at the German market:( one of those days where you dont actually know where your money went to!! Although it was all Hubbys money but at the end of the day its still 'our' money lol.

Anyway, good luck to everybody for the last few days and good luck on starting the new pots! :T

hismummy, No, we finish the current one on Dec 1st (Wed) and begin the next on the 2nd Dec (Thurs)! However, you started one last week so you carry right on with that one - from now on! :)

A good start Georgiegirl, a good lad too! ;)

How did I just know that might happen, henna. ;) Tis that time of year as well as being a German Market where you get tempted so much. Not to worry, at least you got a little in the pot.

oooh, a Barbie one eh TMD, sounds nice...will do when it's full. :D Thanks for the reminder about the bags - not me, I've got mine, but we need to jog the memories of others.

NB. If you haven't already got them, then don't forget to pop to the bank for some bags everyone!
OK everyone...it'll not be long now - just just 2 days left! Give it all you've got and all best wishes to you all.

Sue x Anyone else wishing to join - it's NEVER too late. So, just say the word and you're in for next year too! :xmassmile

  • I must admit I felt a little guilty opening my pot early, but good thing I did-- washing machine died on Saturday so have had to get a new one:mad:. Fortunately Christmas is paid for so I could use some of my money to get a new one. I'm sure our appliances know when I've got spare cash!!

    Qantas Airlines: Repair Division

In case you need a laugh….

Remember, it takes a college degree to fly a plane but only a high school diploma to fix one.

After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a 'Gripe Sheet' which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft.
The mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the Gripe Sheets before the next flight.

Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humour.
Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by
    maintenance engineers.

P: Left inside main tyre almost needs replacement.
S: Almost replaced left inside main tyre.

P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.
S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.

    P: Something loose in cockpit.
    S: Something tightened in cockpit.

    P: Dead bugs on windscreen.
    S: Live bugs on back-order.

P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.
S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.
    S: Evidence removed.

    P: DME volume unbelievably loud.
S: DME volume set to more believable level.

P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.
S: That's what friction locks are for.

P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode.
S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.

    P: Suspected crack in windscreen.
    S: Suspect you're right.

    P: Number 3 engine missing.
S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

P: Aircraft handles funny............ (I love this one!)
S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious.

    P: Target radar hums.
S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

    P: Mouse in cockpit.
    S: Cat installed.

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.
S: Took hammer away from midget.
