BT Connection Charges (merged threads)

Ok, here we go everyone, I have just got off the phone to BT. I have cancelled Virgin, and I contacted BT. We had no connection box, therefore they were going to charge us £124.99.
I looked at this thread, then called them and quoted the Special Offer £62.50.
They said we are unable to do this, but call this department. I got through, and they said yes we can do that for you. I said, Option 2, they said that is £2.50 a month (I can handle that)
They said actually the offer is now £24.99 connection only, so you are getting a better deal. GREAT!
So go for it, do the 18month contract, then do option 1 or 2 for a small fee, then get BTbroadband through Quidco and get £40, £2.50 x 12 + £24.99 - £40, connection charge of £14.99!!!!
Good Luck!

Ring back and double check that £24.99 connection charge.
This sounds as if you were talking to the broadband department, rather than the new line installation dept.0 -

There's certainly something not quite right there. BT Together Option 2 (now called the Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan) is £2.70/month, not £2.50.
But it is in effect free if you sign up to keep line rental with them for 12 months and pay DD and paperless bills this knocks the £2.70 charge off and takes the bill back to £10.50 per month instead.
If I am reading the online offer correct.Novelty rat race, acceleration, believe consume then pay. But we refuse to play!0 -

So why are they not mentioning this when I call then?? And is there somewhere on the BT website with this info, what you've provided is just a PDF file, which anyone can create. I'm not saying you're making it up, just would like to see some further evidence.0

The .pdf is on BT's website - if you look at the URL you will see its part of the online BT price list
As for not mentioning it when you call - its one of those deals I believe that either:
1) you need to specifically ask for or
2) some BT advisors (those who deal with new lines/reconnections) can mention at their discretion if they think you are going to decide not to get a BT line connected at the normal/full price.
Have you actually asked them for this deal when calling?

The old saying of 'if you don't ask, you don't get' applies here.0
